I offer in-person sessions in comfortable, private spaces in both Putney and Southfields, and can also offer online sessions for those that prefer to work this way.
I am currently available during the daytime on Mondays and Wednesdays, and can also offer some evening sessions.
Our initial consultation will take place online, and is a chance for us to talk through your expectations, and to plan our sessions together.
About me and my therapy practice
Are you looking for a supportive and thoughtful space to explore difficulties in your life, relationships or emotional wellbeing?
As an integrative therapist, I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can explore whatever has brought you to therapy. I recognise that seeking therapy often takes courage, particularly when life feels overwhelming, confusing or isolating. My aim is to provide a space where you feel heard, accepted and understood.
Before training as a counsellor, my work centred around supporting people through some of life's most significant and vulnerable moments. In both clinical and non-clinical roles, I worked with vulnerable adults, including women during pregnancy, birth and beyond, as well as adults and children within charitable organisations. These experiences continue to inform my practice and have strengthened my belief that emotional wellbeing is closely connected to our physical health, relationships, identity and sense of belonging.
I also have a personal appreciation of the impact that long-term health conditions can have on daily life, relationships, confidence and emotional wellbeing. This has deepened my understanding of the resilience people draw upon when facing illness, loss, uncertainty and change.
I have experience supporting people with a range of difficulties, including addiction, OCD, ADHD, relationship difficulties, trauma, abuse, sexual violence, anxiety, depression, bereavement and low self-esteem. While labels and diagnoses can sometimes help us make sense of our experiences, I believe that every person's story is unique. My focus is on understanding you as an individual and working in a way that recognises your specific needs, strengths and goals.
Therapy offers an opportunity not only to cope with difficulties but also to understand yourself more fully. Through reflection and curiosity, meaningful and lasting change can become possible.
Practice description
My approach is integrative, drawing primarily on person-centred and psychodynamic perspectives. This enables me to tailor therapy to your individual needs while exploring both your current difficulties and the experiences, relationships and unconscious patterns that may be influencing them.
Life's challenges can affect us in many different ways. Sometimes the reasons for our distress are clear; at other times, we may find ourselves repeating familiar patterns, struggling in relationships, or reacting in ways we do not fully understand. Therapy provides an opportunity to explore these experiences in greater depth and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your place in the world.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. By building a trusting and collaborative relationship, we can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you, helping you develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience and insight.
Alongside talking therapy, I bring curiosity and creativity to my work. Sometimes thoughts and feelings can be difficult to put into words, and creative approaches can offer different ways of exploring experiences, emotions and patterns. Where appropriate, I may use metaphor, imagery or reflective exploration to help you view familiar difficulties from a different perspective and gain new understanding.
My role is not to direct your journey, but to work alongside you as we explore what has brought you to therapy. Together, we can consider what you may be carrying, how it came to be there, what continues to serve you and what you may be ready to let go of. Through this process, therapy can support meaningful self-understanding and lasting change.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin exploring what has brought you to therapy. We will talk about what is happening in your life, any concerns or difficulties you may be experiencing, and what you hope to gain from counselling.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a significant step, so there is no pressure to share everything at once. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, allowing space for reflection, curiosity and any questions you may have.
The first session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of what it might be like to work with me. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is an important part of the counselling process, and finding the right therapist matters. Together, we can consider whether counselling with me feels like the right fit for your needs at this time.
My hope is that you leave the session feeling listened to, supported and with a clearer understanding of how we might work together going forward.
