About me and my therapy practice
My style is collaborative, steady and respectful. I pay close attention to your pace and to what feels manageable right now. We might:
• explore your history and relationships, including patterns you keep finding yourself in,
• notice how anxiety, numbness or tension show up in your body,
• work with “parts” of you (for example: the critic, the caretaker, the rebel, the scared child) so that you can relate to them rather than be run by them
• use imagery or gentle visualisations when they help to clarify what you want or what’s in the way
Underneath all of this is a simple intention: to give you a space where you can tell the truth about your experience, feel met in it, and gradually live in a way that feels more aligned with who you are.
Practice description
Sessions offer a reflective, confidential space where complexity is allowed to unfold at its own pace. The work is collaborative and exploratory, recognising that meaning often emerges indirectly and over time. Rather than aiming to produce a single “correct” narrative, therapy supports the development of a more nuanced and compassionate relationship with one’s inner life.
My first session
The first session is a chance for both of us to get a sense of whether working together feels right.
Typically we will:
• talk about what has led you to seek therapy now – this might be a specific event or a longer-term sense of being overwhelmed, lost or divided inside
• touch on relevant background – important relationships, mental and physical health, work, and anything else that feels central to who you are
• begin to shape together what you might like from therapy: relief, clarity, a different relationship with yourself, support through a transition, or simply a dependable space to think and feel.
You don’t need to arrive with a polished story or clear goals. Many people begin by saying they feel confused, “too much”, or unsure where to start – and that is absolutely okay. We can begin exactly where you are.
