About me and my therapy practice

Integrative Counsellor | Trauma-Informed | Neuro-Affirming

I am an integrative counsellor offering a compassionate, supportive space where you can explore what is happening in your life at your own pace. My approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming, recognizing that everyone’s experiences and needs are unique.

I work with young people aged 11 and above, as well as adults, supporting a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

I have experience working within the NHS in Primary Care as a Mental Health Support Worker, as well as supporting families affected by a loved one’s addiction through my work with Turning Point. These roles have given me valuable insight into the challenges people and families can face, including anxiety, stress, trauma, and the impact of addiction.

As a neurodivergent practitioner myself, I understand the importance of feeling accepted and supported. I work in a neuro-affirming way and aim to create a safe, non-judgemental environment where you can feel heard and understood.

My work is grounded in a person-centred approach, meaning our sessions focus on what matters most to you. I am empathic and supportive, while also being honest and direct when it is helpful for your growth. Together we can explore patterns, build self-awareness, and work towards meaningful change.

My practice is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework, ensuring that my work remains professional, ethical, and client-focused.

I offer sessions online via Microsoft Teams, by telephone, or face-to-face, providing flexibility to suit your needs.

If you are looking for a supportive space to talk and make sense of your experiences, you are welcome to get in touch.

Practice description

I work to facilitate clients in making sense of their experiences and life situations. I offer a non-judgemental, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. I encourage autonomy and self-understanding, supporting you to find your own direction and solutions.

My approach is empathic and validating. I listen carefully and work collaboratively with clients, drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities to meet individual needs. I also incorporate mindfulness techniques, where appropriate, to help clients develop greater awareness, grounding, and emotional regulation.

I have experience supporting clients with a variety of issues including anger management, anxiety, building self-confidence, self-exploration, bereavement, addiction, fears and phobias, trauma, challenging parenting situations, relationship difficulties, and inner child healing, among others.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Existential Therapy, Transpersonal Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy, alongside mindfulness-based approaches. This allows me to adapt the way we work together so it best supports your individual needs.

I aim to make counselling as accessible as possible and offer reduced session fees for longer-term work, as well as concessionary rates for students and those on lower incomes.

I can see you online, at home, or face to face in Dawlish and surrounding areas.

My first session

What to Expect

The first session is a free 30-minute introductory session. This gives us the opportunity to talk about what you are looking for from counselling and for you to decide whether I feel like the right counsellor for you.

During the following session we will complete an initial assessment and risk assessment, and discuss a working agreement/contract. This helps ensure that we are working together safely, ethically, and with a shared understanding of the counselling process.

After this, each one-hour session is your space to talk about whatever feels important to you. I will listen with empathy and work collaboratively with you to explore your experiences and support you in a way that feels helpful and meaningful.

My aim is to provide a safe, supportive and caring environment, where you feel heard and respected, and where our work together can be beneficial to your wellbeing and personal growth.
