About me and my therapy practice
I am Jacki, an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. At the heart of everything I do is a single, unwavering belief: your story matters. Whatever has brought you to this point — the noise, the pressure, the years of carrying what was never truly yours to carry — there is a space here where you will be genuinely heard, met without judgement, and supported to find your way back to yourself.
Much of my work is with people who feel othered — whether by ethnicity, culture, neurodiversity, life experience, or identity. I am also deeply committed to holding space for those who carry a profound love for the natural world: people who grieve for the planet, who feel the weight of ecological loss, or who find themselves dismissed or even ridiculed for how deeply they care about animals, nature, and our shared environment.
In a world that does not always make room for that kind of grief or that depth of feeling, having somewhere to bring it — without explanation or apology — matters enormously.
I believe that belonging is not something that has to be earned. Every person who comes to work with me deserves to feel that they are enough, exactly as they are. Creating a space of genuine warmth, inclusion, and unconditional positive regard is not something I do alongside the therapeutic work — it is the foundation of it.
What I love most about this work is the moment I witness someone begin to reconnect with themselves. Beneath the pain, the confusion, and the stories that were handed to them long before they had the language to question them, there is always something vital waiting to be rediscovered. To walk alongside someone as they find their way back to who they really are — that is the greatest privilege this work offers.
Training
I am a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I work in full accordance with their ethical frameworks at all times.
Practice description
Who I Work With
I support adults navigating a wide range of difficulties, including: anxiety and stress, depression, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, low self-worth and self-esteem, life transitions, cultural identity and displacement, neurodiversity, and ecological grief. My practice has a particular commitment to working with people who feel othered — by ethnicity, culture, identity, neurodiversity, or lived experience — and to those who carry a deep love for, and grief about, the natural world and environmental crisis.
I offer an integrative psychotherapeutic counselling practice offering a compassionate, whole-person approach to therapy. The practice is founded on the belief that every person deserves a space in which their story is heard without judgment, their lived experience is honoured, and their healing is allowed to unfold at their own pace, in their own way.
What is Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling?
Life can sometimes leave us feeling lost, overwhelmed, or disconnected — from ourselves, from others, and from any sense of who we truly are. Integrative psychotherapeutic counselling offers a personalised, compassionate space in which to explore those feelings, make sense of your experiences, and gently find your way back to yourself.
Unlike a single-method approach, integrative therapy draws on a rich weave of therapeutic traditions — tailoring the work to you, your story, your body, your needs, and your pace. No two people are the same, and no single path fits every traveller.
Trauma-Informed at its Core
My practice is grounded in a deep understanding of how trauma — whether a single defining event or a lifetime of accumulated experience — shapes the way we feel, relate, and move through the world. Sessions are always paced with care, working within what feels safe and manageable, and honouring the courage it takes to show up and speak honestly about what you carry.
My first session
I offer a free 30 min consultation.
The consultation is simply an opportunity for us both to get a feel for how it might be to work together and to explore whether I’m the right person to support you. You’ll have the space to tell me a little of what brings you to therapy at this time and hear a little about how I work.
