About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Turiya Rose, a BACP-qualified integrative therapist with a rich and interdisciplinary background in psychology, embodied practice, and contemplative traditions.

I work with adults who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, trauma, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, or significant life transitions. Many people come to therapy when life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or when they sense a need for deeper understanding and change.

My approach is integrative, drawing primarily from Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transpersonal perspectives. I place particular importance on the therapeutic relationship, creating a calm and respectful environment where you feel heard, accepted, and supported.

Alongside relational depth, I hold a strong awareness of the nervous system and the role of the body in emotional wellbeing. I work in a trauma-informed way, recognising how difficult experiences can affect our sense of safety, connection, and resilience.

I completed my Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling at Iron Mill College in Exeter and have accrued over 160 client hours, working relationally and in a trauma-informed way with a diverse range of clients.

Alongside my counselling training, I hold a First Class Master’s degree in Jungian Psychology, with a particular focus on archetypal dynamics and the workings of the unconscious mind.

I am also a qualified meditation and Hatha Yoga teacher (500+ hours, qualified in 2016), with over a decade of experience supporting embodied awareness, nervous system regulation, and mind–body integration.

Alongside my therapeutic practice, I have worked as a women’s mentor and retreat leader, holding supportive spaces that encourage self-reflection, personal growth, and reconnection with inner resources.

My intention is to offer a steady, grounded space in which you can explore your experiences, develop greater self-awareness, and reconnect with your own inner resources and capacity for change.

Practice description

I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can speak openly about what is happening in your life. My work is collaborative and responsive, and we will move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

My integrative counselling approach brings together relational understanding, present-moment awareness, and sensitivity to the emotional and physical impact of life experiences. I believe that meaningful change often begins when we feel truly heard and supported.

Where helpful, we may explore patterns in relationships, emotional responses, or behaviours, and develop greater awareness of thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. This can support emotional regulation, resilience, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself.

I work in a trauma-informed way and am mindful of the importance of safety, stability, and trust within the therapeutic process. I do not rely on a fixed set of techniques; instead, I aim to offer a consistent and integrated experience of therapy that is tailored to your individual needs.

I am committed to working within the BACP Ethical Framework and maintain regular clinical supervision to support safe, ethical, and reflective practice.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet, begin to get to know one another, and explore what has brought you to therapy. You may wish to share something specific that is troubling you, or simply talk about how things have been feeling recently.

I will ask some gentle questions to understand your situation, your hopes for therapy, and any relevant background information. We will also talk about practical matters such as confidentiality, boundaries, and how sessions work, so that you feel informed and comfortable.

There is no pressure to share everything straight away. We will move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. The first session is as much about you getting a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me as it is about beginning the therapeutic process.

Beginning therapy can feel like a tender step, and I aim to make that first contact as gentle and supportive as possible.

Before this first session together, you are welcome to get in touch to ask questions or to arrange a free of charge 20-minute discovery session.
