About me and my therapy practice
Supporting children, young people and adults with warmth, understanding and over 20 years’ experience. BACP Registered
You don’t have to face things on your own.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether you are struggling with anxiety, low confidence, relationships, emotions, change, or simply feeling that things have become difficult to manage. I offer a safe, welcoming space where you can feel heard, understood and supported at your own pace.
I am a BACP Registered Counsellor with over 20 years’ experience supporting children, young people and families through my previous work as a teacher, SENCO and school-based therapist.
I work with children, teenagers and adults, and have a particular interest in supporting people who may experience the world differently, including those with neurodiversity, anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties.
My approach is warm, compassionate and person-centred. I believe that every person is unique, and I tailor therapy to the individual rather than using a “one size fits all” approach. Together, we can explore what is happening for you, develop a greater understanding of yourself, and find ways to help you move forward.
Practice description
For children and young people, I provide a safe and supportive environment where they can express their thoughts and feelings, build confidence and develop strategies to manage challenges. Where appropriate, I also offer parent consultations to help parents and carers better understand and support their child.
For adults, I provide a confidential space to explore whatever you may be experiencing, without judgement.
My aim is to help you feel listened to, valued and empowered to make positive changes.
My first session
Starting therapy can feel daunting, so I aim to make the first session as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
Our first meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to share what has brought you to counselling. We can talk about what you would like support with, what you hope to achieve, and any questions or worries you may have about therapy.
There is no pressure to have everything figured out straight away. We will work together at a pace that feels right for you.
My goal is to provide a safe, accepting space where you feel comfortable being yourself and beginning your therapy journey.
