About me and my therapy practice

Do you find yourself caught in patterns you don't understand or know how to change? Perhaps you struggle with self-doubt, feel overwhelmed or misunderstood, or find it difficult to know what you really want or need.

I offer counselling for people who want to understand themselves more deeply, make sense of what is happening, and find more choice in how they respond.

You might be:

  • struggling with recurring patterns in relationships
  • finding it difficult to express yourself honestly or set boundaries
  • dealing with shame, self-doubt or disconnection
  • struggling with intimacy, closeness or vulnerability
  • reacting in ways you don't understand or choose
  • feeling stuck without knowing what needs to change

In our work together, we slow things down and explore what is happening beneath the surface. We can pay attention to thoughts, feelings, bodily experience and patterns of relating, helping you understand what is happening, what matters to you, and what choices you have.

My foundation is person-centred counselling, and I also draw on Nonviolent Communication, Focusing, somatic awareness and relational approaches where useful.

I'm particularly interested in what happens when we lose contact with ourselves — when we don't know what we want, become caught in patterns we don't understand, or feel torn between caring for ourselves and caring for others. I also have a particular interest in intimacy, vulnerability and conflict.

I aim to offer a warm, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can explore difficult things without having to have everything figured out.

You can start wherever you are.

Practice description

In our sessions, we slow things down and pay attention to what is happening for you — including:

  • thoughts and feelings
  • what you notice in your body
  • patterns that keep repeating
  • things that may be difficult to put into words

Rather than rushing towards solutions, we explore your experience with curiosity and care, helping you understand yourself and your situation more clearly.

Where helpful, I may invite you to:

  • notice what is happening in your body
  • stay with an experience for a little longer
  • explore something that feels difficult to put into words
  • take a break or find ways to feel more grounded

You are always free to decide what feels comfortable and what you want to explore.

I am comfortable working with strong emotions, tension and complexity, including experiences of trauma. We can work at a pace that feels manageable, so that difficult experiences can be explored without becoming overwhelming.

My aim is to help you stay in contact with yourself while exploring the things that matter to you.

My first session

Before your first session, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call.

This gives us a chance to:

  • talk briefly about what brings you to counselling
  • answer any questions you have
  • see whether working together feels like a good fit

In our first full session, we will explore what has brought you to counselling and what you would most like support with.

You don't need to arrive with a clear explanation or a particular goal. We can take some time to work out together what feels important.

There is no formal assessment process, and you can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. You can also ask questions about how I work and what you might hope to get from counselling.

The first session is an opportunity to begin getting to know each other and experience what it is like to work with me.

About me and my therapy practice

Do you find yourself caught in patterns you don't understand or know how to change? Perhaps you struggle with self-doubt, feel overwhelmed or misunderstood, or find it difficult to know what you want or need. I offer counselling to help you make sense of what's happening and find more choice in how you respond.

You might be experiencing recurring difficulties in relationships, struggling to express yourself honestly, or finding it hard to set boundaries without feeling guilty. You may be dealing with shame, disconnection, difficulties with intimacy, or simply a sense that something isn't working and you're not sure how to change it.

In our work together, we slow things down and explore what is happening beneath the surface. This can help you understand your experience, what matters to you, and the patterns that shape how you respond.

My foundation is person-centred counselling, which means I work at your pace and pay attention to what feels important to you. I also draw on Nonviolent Communication, Focusing, somatic awareness and relational approaches.

I'm particularly interested in what happens when we lose contact with ourselves - when we don't know what we want, become caught in patterns we don't understand, or find ourselves torn between caring for ourselves and caring for others. I also have a particular interest in intimacy, vulnerability and conflict, both within ourselves and in our relationships.

I aim to offer a warm, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can explore things that may be difficult to talk about elsewhere. I bring both emotional attunement and clarity to the work, helping you feel met while also making space to understand your experience in new ways.

You don't need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling. You might arrive with a clear sense of what you want help with, or simply know that something isn't working and want space to understand it. We can start wherever you are.

Where helpful, I may invite you to notice what is happening in your body or stay with an experience for a little longer. This can sometimes reveal something that is difficult to access through thinking alone. You are always free to decide what feels comfortable and what you want to explore.
