Practice description

I currently specialise in a therapeutic modality called Pluralistic Person-Centered Counselling.

This means I am able to offer an extended version of Person-Centered therapy through the term Pluralism. This will enable us to explore therapy not just through the conventional method of verbal communication but through avenues focused upon creativity such as art therapy for which includes anything from clay therapy, emotion focused therapy, drawing and writing.

The term Pluralistic really brings life, option and variation to the work we can do with each other. Pluralism is fundamentally designed at tailoring the therapeutic process to you and what your needs would ultimately benefit from most. Sometimes talking might not penetrate the ground and so we are able to introduce creativity and play to the recipe as this helps to bring to life your process should you wish.

Being trained to specialise in Person-Centred counselling means purely my work is pillared by a non-judgemental empathy and unconditional positive regard blended by a soulful intention of guiding and aiding your journey to find your colour and light through verbal and creative communication.

I centre my work solely around honouring the focus and autonomy of what you ultimately desire, what you want, where you want to go, or what it is you want to make sense of and explore.

What feels essential to the facet of my role as your counsellor is ensuring that as I listen, I shall walk with, along side you, and by your every word, and felt feeling you share, a careful attentiveness in holding like a soulful Sheppard, the context of your journeys rhythm and direction. My intent is based upon encouraging and maintaining an optimal therapeutic climate for your process as so to ensure clarity through both your terrain of containment and safety.

My first session

During our first meeting we can use this space as a very warm exploratory session by way of introducing ourselves and by walking through any questions or queries you may have regarding the administrative aspects of our working relationship. I like to call this our foundational blueprint and we can use this time however long you feel necessary.

In affect, our first session will be used to really get to know each other, how I work, what I can offer and to better understand your preferences regarding how it is you like to work going forward.

We will use this time to explore how you would like to work, the things you are open to, the thereaputic approaches you connect with and may no connect with.

It will be a session in which we are able to understand how we can tailor the sessions we have together moving forward as a way to make counselling as optimal and progressive to your process as possible.
