About me and my therapy practice

Seeking therapy can feel like a daunting step. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental, and supportive space where we can explore whatever has brought you to therapy, at your own pace. You may be feeling stuck, anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed and perhaps unsure why. I aim to work empathically and reflectively, collaborating with you to explore what may be holding you back in your life or relationships.

I provide therapy for anxiety, low mood and depression, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, stage of life transitions and many more situations and experiences people find themselves in.

I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where you can express your thoughts and feelings, feel seen and heard, and we can work together to improve your quality of life.

Practice description

I work face to face to face in Paulton and Bath and also online for those unable to attend in person.

My approach is grounded in Transactional Analysis (TA). A core principle that I hold closely is the concept of ‘life scripts’ — unconscious beliefs and decisions created during childhood that can continue to influence how we think, feel, and relate as adults, out of our awareness. It’s what first drew me to this modality.

In the first four initial sessions we will get to know each other better.

As a core principal of Transactional Analysis we will together agree on a contract exploring what you would like to achieve in therapy. Whether it is specific goals or simply exploring options together in the room.

To benefit the most from therapy we will have a weekly session.

Although I typically recommend mid to longer term work (ten weeks +), short term therapy of six weeks can also be effective depending on the circumstances.

My first session

The initial session is by phone or online and there is no charge. The purpose of it is to introduce ourselves to each other and work out if we want to work together.

We talk about why you are seeking therapy but we don't get into the work at this stage.

Once agreed we want to go ahead we work out a time and place to meet and set a start date.
