About me and my therapy practice
As Martin Luthor King Jnr said "you don't have to see the whole staircase just take the first step."
If you are reading this then it sounds like you have taken the first brave step. Choosing a counsellor can be a daunting task and it takes courage to reach out. I believe that counselling isn't something that is done to you, but a process that is collaborative and personal to you. This is why it's important that you and your counsellor are a "good fit" and why I start by offering a free 30 minute consultation
We can often feel alone, judged or that no one can understand what we are going through when our mental health is suffering. I will walk alongside you and build a trusting and open relationship where you are the focus. Together we can untangle emotions and thoughts and shine a light on the shadows.
Practice description
As your holistic counsellor, I don’t just listen to the thoughts in your head—I hold space for your entire being: your mind, body, and spirit. Traditional therapy often stops at talking, but I know that your emotional stress can show up as physical tightness in your shoulders, and a heavy heart can leave you feeling deeply disconnected from your sense of purpose. In our sessions together, we will look at the whole picture of your life. By blending gentle talk therapy with somatic (body-centered) awareness and mindfulness, I am here to help you gently release trapped tension, quiet the mental noise, and realign with who you truly are. You don’t have to keep just "getting through" the day; together, we can cultivate a deeply rooted, vibrant sense of peace that honors every part of you.
My counselling approach is flexible and designed to suit your specific circumstances. Whether you seek a single session for immediate support, short-term focused therapy for a particular issue, long-term open-ended therapy for deep-seated concerns, or ad-hoc sessions when extra support is needed, we will collaborate to find the approach that works best for you.
My first session
Our initial session will consist of both an assessment and any immediate support I can provide. During this session, I will explore what has led you to seek counselling at this time, gain insight into your current circumstances, and discuss how we can work collaboratively moving forward.
Before this meeting, I will send you an assessment form to complete and return to me in advance. This ensures that we can make the most of our time together. Additionally, I will provide a copy of my terms and conditions, which outline payment details and other essential information about our therapeutic work—often referred to as a ‘counselling contract.’ I kindly ask that you sign and return this document before our first session.
