About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Chris. If you've found yourself here, chances are you're worried, anxious or overwhelmed. You may have been carrying something for a long time, or perhaps something in your life has changed and you're looking for support. You may be looking for someone to talk to who isn't a friend or family.
My therapy room is a friendly, safe and non-judgmental space. I want to hear your story. Everyone is warmly welcomed.
I work at your pace. Together we’ll make sense of what’s happening in your life, exploring both your current difficulties and the experiences that may have shaped them. My aim isn’t simply to reduce symptoms, but to help you understand yourself more deeply and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others.
Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss, questions about identity or simply feel stuck, therapy can offer a space to think, feel and make sense of things.
Reaching out can be hard to do. If you decide we might be a good fit, let's have an initial chat together.
Practice description
I am in my forties and left a corporate job in the City to retrain as a psychotherapist. I understand the stresses and strains of today’s busy lifestyles. Constantly feeling under pressure can result in loneliness and feeling disconnected from yourself and others. Having experienced the benefits of therapy in my own life, I wanted to train to become a fully qualified therapist. I studied for four years for a Master's degree at Regent's University.
My approach is an ‘integrative’ one, meaning that I draw on different psychotherapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. For me, therapy is not about being judged or analysed. It is about creating a space where you can think, feel and make sense of your experience with another person.
In addition to private practice, I also work with clients at the NHS South London and Maudsley Foundation Trust.
As a registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct and ethical practice. I have also spent the past year working with an LGBT+ charity to support people struggling with issues around their sexuality and identity.
My first session
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know one another. We can talk about what’s brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping for, while giving you space to ask any questions you may have.
There is no expectation that you tell me everything in our first meeting. We will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together we’ll think about whether I’m the right therapist for you and how we might work together.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, and it’s natural to feel nervous. I've been there too. My aim is for you to leave our first session feeling heard and understood, with a clearer sense of how therapy can help.
