About me and my therapy practice
I understand how valuable counselling can be, and how important it is to feel heard and understood.
In my work I use an integrative approach, combining person-centred, psychodynamic therapy, and CBT, alongside the Egan Skilled Helper model. This will enable us to explore both past experiences and present challenges, helping you to gain insight and develop practical ways forward.
I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where we can work collaboratively at a pace that feels right for you. I offer in-person, telephone, and online sessions, depending on your preference. I have a range of experience with 15 years of experience working in a safeguarding role supporting young people in a school setting (I have a current enhanced DBS working with children), alongside supporting older adults. I have also supported clients who have experienced trauma or domestic violence, as well as those facing challenges with their mental health and wellbeing.
Please feel free to contact me to arrange a free 15-minute initial discussion.
Practice description
I am a down-to-earth, warm, and caring person. I understand that life can sometimes feel difficult and overwhelming. Reaching out for support is not always easy, and taking those first steps can feel scary. If you struggle with commitment, even being here now may feel challenging.
I want to reassure you that you are not alone. In our sessions, I aim to help you feel supported and empowered as you explore the areas of your life you may be struggling with, so you can begin to make meaningful changes and move towards a more fulfilling life.
You may feel that you have lost touch with your strengths, resources, and aspirations, or that you are experiencing conflict around your core values and beliefs, which can lead to low mood or indecisiveness. At times, you may feel overwhelmed or stuck when faced with multiple challenges. Therapy is about building and maintaining a trusting relationship. I will actively listen and offer unconditional positive regard, providing a safe and non-judgemental space where you can begin to make sense of your experiences.
We will work together at a pace that feels right for you. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I will support you in making the decisions that feel right for you. I will walk alongside you on your journey, helping you move towards a life that feels more meaningful and aligned with who you are.
My first session
Please contact me through the BACP or email me direct kmhwtt@gmail.com. I will respond within 24/48 hours.
During our first session we will discuss the number of sessions you would like to book, for example:
Open-ended sessions, we can work together at your pace without a fixed end date, allowing space to explore your experiences and patterns more deeply.
Fixed sessions, we agree on a set number of sessions and focus on a specific area where you would like support or clarity.
