About me and my therapy practice
Welcome.
I work in an integrative and relational way, meaning I draw on a range of theories and perspectives, and adapt my approach to suit your individual needs.
At the heart of my work is our therapeutic relationship. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to be yourself - where you can think, feel, laugh, disagree and be met with openness and understanding. I am not here as an expert with all the answers, but as a trained professional who works alongside you in a collaborative and human way.
Its so important to me that I take the time to understand your world from your perspective, listening deeply and reflecting back what I notice where it may support growth. My approach is active and engaged, while always guided by what feels safe and manageable for you.
Therapy, to me, is less about achieving a fixed idea of "positive mental health", and more about helping you understand your story and your life more deeply. It is about supporting you to feel like the main character in your own life - connected to your own voice, choices and direction - so that you can carry that sense of empowerment with you long after our work together.
Practice description
I offer online therapy sessions in a safe, confidential and supportive space, where you can bring whatever feels important to you. I work with a range of struggles, including anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship difficulties, as well as a general sense that something in life does not feel quite right.
Therapy with me is a space for exploration and understanding. You do not need to have the “right” words or know exactly what you want to talk about. We can begin wherever feels most natural, whether that is something specific or a more general feeling of being stuck, disconnected or uncertain.
I work in a relational and collaborative way, and the sessions will involve us working together to make sense of your experiences. I will listen closely, reflect what I notice, and gently challenge where appropriate, always working at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Therapy can be both supportive and challenging. It can bring up difficult emotions, but it can also be deeply meaningful and empowering. My intention is to sit alongside you as you develop a greater understanding of yourself, your patterns and your story, helping you feel more connected to yourself and your life.
My first session
If you are interested in working with me, you can get in touch via email. I offer a free initial telephone consultation (up to one hour), which gives us the opportunity to briefly explore what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping for from the process. It is also a chance for you to get a sense of me and for me to begin to understand how best I might support you.
If we decide to work together, I will send you a contract and a personal information form to complete and review. In our first session, we will go through the contract together and I will answer any questions you may have. We will then begin by exploring what feels most important for you at that time and start the therapeutic process from there.
I work in a structured but flexible way, and I usually offer a review after around three months to reflect on how things are going and whether our work is meeting your needs. I will also keep you informed in advance of any planned breaks.
Sessions are held online using a secure platform, where your notes, payment details and video links are all accessed in one place. I will guide you through how to use this at the start of our work together.
