About me and my therapy practice
I’m Jo, an autistic counsellor combining person-centred and psychodynamic approaches to offer a compassionate, personalised space for reflection and growth. I draw on my background in psychology (BSc and MSc) alongside my counselling training and lived experience, which has shaped how I tailor sessions to each person’s unique needs. I often use nature as a backdrop, providing a grounded and reflective setting that can help clients connect more deeply with their thoughts and feelings.
Practice description
If you replay conversations over and over,
Feel like you’re constantly trying to get things right, but end up exhausted,
Wonder if you might be autistic, ADHD, or just wired differently
Or feeling the pressure of being trans or gender-diverse in a world that doesn’t always feel safe or understanding
I would love to hear from you and offer you a place to pause, be heard, and start untangling it all.
I work with neurodivergence and LGBTQIA+ adults, navigating identity, anxiety, life changes, or burnout. As someone diagnosed autistic later in life, I bring both training and lived experience. My approach is neuro-affirming and gender-affirming: we explore different ways of thinking, validate your identity, and work together to find ways of living that feel authentic, without trying to “fix” you!
Many people I work with have spent years masking, feeling “different,” or trying to meet everyone else’s expectations. Together, we slow things down, uncover patterns, and build trust in yourself.
This is a space where you can stop performing and be fully seen, heard, and accepted.
My first session
I offer a free 30-minute online consultation. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, for you to share what brings you to counselling, and for me to talk you through how I work. It also gives us a chance to decide whether we feel like a good fit.
Types of therapy
Integrative, Person centred, Psychodynamic
Clients I work with
Adults, Older adults, Trainees
How I deliver therapy
Long term sessions, Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy
Features
- Flexible hours available
