About me and my therapy practice

Hello, and a very warm welcome. My name is Danielle, and I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist based in London. I am the founder of Komorebi Space, my private practice offering online counselling and psychotherapy across the UK and Europe.

I am especially interested in identity and belonging, particularly when this shows up as anxiety, low confidence, low self-esteem, feeling different, or not knowing where you fit. Together, we can gently explore what has shaped your sense of self, and how you might live in a way that feels more true to you.

I work from a neurodiversity-affirming, culturally aware, and systemically informed perspective. This means I am interested not only in what you are feeling, but also in the wider contexts that may have shaped your experience, including culture, family, relationships, education, work, and social expectations.

Practice description

My work is grounded in a person-centred way of being: warmth, acceptance, and a deep respect for you and your experience. I trust in your capacity to grow, and I aim to meet you as you are, without judgement or pressure to perform.

I also work actively and collaboratively. Therapy with me can include different things depending on what feels helpful for you. We might explore past experiences and patterns, make sense of thoughts and feelings, practise tools for anxiety or overwhelm, reflect on what matters to you, or use creative exercises when talking alone does not feel enough. We would always decide this together, so the work feels supportive rather than imposed.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call before starting therapy. This gives us a chance to meet, talk about what has brought you to counselling, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

If we decide to begin, the first full session is a gentle opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what you would like support with. We may talk through the therapy agreement, including confidentiality, cancellations, online sessions, and any questions you have, so the practical side feels clear.

I may also invite you to use a simple timeline, if this feels helpful. This is a tool that can help you visualise or express what has brought you to therapy, where you feel you are now, and what you might like to move towards. Some people find it easier to see things laid out in this way, especially when words feel difficult or everything feels tangled. There is no pressure to share everything at once; we will go at a pace that feels manageable for you.
