About me and my therapy practice
I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor offering warm, relational therapy for adults in London and online across the UK. I work with adults individually and with couples and relationships, offering a welcoming, non-judgemental space where we can explore and work together at your pace.
I work from a Transactional Analysis (TA) framework. This means I bring curiosity to understanding how your early experiences, relationships and the beliefs you've developed about yourself shape who you are today. Together we can explore the patterns that keep repeating, find new ways of understanding yourself and others, and work towards change that feels meaningful to you.
I work in a way that puts you at the centre, by listening carefully to you, your story and your experience, in a space where you can speak honestly and without judgement. I believe that real, lasting change comes from within you, and that my role is to support and walk alongside you in that process.
A deeper understanding of yourself - how you relate to others and the patterns that show up in your life - can open up new possibilities and help you navigate the parts of life that feel most difficult, and find ways of living that feel more true to who you are.
I work with relationship difficulties, family issues, anxiety, depression, OCD, low confidence and self-esteem, bereavement, trauma, abuse, neurodiversity, life transitions, parenthood, and more.
I hold a Level 6 qualification in Counselling, have undertaken further training at Level 7 Master's level, and am a Psychotherapist in advanced training. I work with private clients and have worked in low-cost community counselling services. I bring over 20 years of experience as an early years teacher in inner London, supporting children and families through a wide range of challenges. This work that has shaped my commitment to culturally sensitive practice and my ability to create spaces where clients from all backgrounds feel heard and understood.
Practice description
I work with adults individually and with couples and relationships. I see clients online across the UK and in person from my cosy, welcoming therapy room in Victoria Park Square, E2 - just a few minutes from Bethnal Green tube and easy to reach from Hackney, Dalston, Shoreditch, Mile End, Whitechapel and much of East London. We'll typically meet weekly for 50-minute sessions, and can work in a time-limited way or on an open-ended basis, reviewing this regularly to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
I believe therapy should be a space where everyone feels genuinely welcome - somewhere you can bring the most private, honest and vulnerable parts of yourself, and trust that you will be met with openness and without judgement.
I am committed to an ethical, inclusive practice and am mindful of the ways that social, cultural and political contexts shape our identities and experiences, and how these can both inform and sometimes complicate the therapeutic process. I will always seek to understand your identity and experience in context, taking my lead from you and working without assumptions.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute telephone or Zoom consultation where we can discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and what our work together might look like. If we feel we're a good fit, we'll arrange an initial 50-minute session - either online or in person at my therapy room in Bethnal Green, East London.
This first session gives me a chance to understand your life, the issues you're facing, and what you hope to achieve. It's also an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work and whether I might be the right therapist for you. The session is charged at my standard rate.
I always respond to my emails. If you're waiting to hear from me, please check your junk/spam folder.
