About me and my therapy practice
My Approach
Because every person is different, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. As an integrative therapist, I draw on different ways of working, including looking at your past (psychodynamic) and focusing on your present (person-centred) to find what actually resonates with you.
Sometimes, this means looking at how your earlier experiences have shaped the way you see yourself and your relationships today. We don’t just look at the symptoms; we look at the roots.
I believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship we build together. Change doesn’t just come from 'talking about' problems; it comes from feeling truly heard and accepted by another person. My aim is to offer a calm, grounded space where you can be exactly as you are, moving at a pace that feels right for you.
Practice description
I’m Jude Lee, an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, based in Golders Green.
Life can feel overwhelming, and it’s often hard to hear anything over the noise of expectation and a harsh inner critic. In our sessions, that volume turns down. Together, we’ll look beneath the surface to understand the 'why' behind your struggle. It’s a space where you don’t have to have all the answers or even like where you are right now. We simply start with a willingness to find some breathing space and a more solid foundation to stand on.
I work face to face in Golders Green and offer a free 20-minute phone consultation, where you can ask questions and get a sense of how I work
My first session
During our first session together I will complete an assessment with you and together we can establish what your goals are for therapy and how I can best support you.
I usually suggest that we start with 6 sessions together, for you to get a proper sense of me and how I work and then you can decide if I feel like the right person for you.
