About me and my therapy practice
I'm a UK-trained, person-centred counsellor offering online therapy to English-speaking adults across the UK and Spain.
Before training as a counsellor, I worked in prison and probation services and later supported people recovering from addiction. Working alongside people whose lives had been shaped by trauma, addiction, mental health difficulties, grief and major life changes taught me something that's stayed with me ever since: behind every behaviour is a person trying to cope in the best way they know how.
That understanding still shapes the way I work today. I'll offer a space where you can slow down, make sense of what's happening, and explore whatever feels important to you at a pace that feels right.
Practice description
People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. You may be feeling anxious, low or overwhelmed, struggling in relationships, coping with loss, navigating a life transition, living with the effects of trauma, or simply feeling that something isn't quite right.
Whatever has brought you here, we'll begin wherever feels right for you. Together, we'll explore your experiences, make sense of what's happening, and work towards a better understanding of yourself and what you need.
There's no set agenda and no expectation that you'll have everything figured out before you begin. We'll work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you, focusing on what feels most important to you.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. It's an opportunity for us to briefly meet, talk about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions you might have, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
If you decide to go ahead, our first session is a chance for us to begin getting to know one another and explore what has brought you to therapy. I'll explain how I work, including confidentiality and the practicalities of counselling, so you know what to expect. From there, we'll begin wherever feels right for you.
I know that cost can sometimes be a barrier to accessing therapy, so I offer a limited number of reduced-fee daytime appointments for students and people on lower incomes.
