About me and my therapy practice
How I can help you
Taking the first step toward therapy takes immense courage, especially when life feels overwhelming, chaotic, or exhausting. With over 30 years of experience in the NHS and specialised psychotherapeutic training, I provide a deeply safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of your struggles together.
I work with adults navigating a wide range of deeply challenging life experiences, including:
Anxiety & Depression: Navigating persistent worry, low mood, or feeling completely stuck.
Burnout & Stress: Supporting professionals and caregivers who feel emotionally or physically depleted.
Relational & Family Issues: Unpacking difficult patterns in your personal or professional relationships.
Neurodiversity (ADHD): Helping you understand your unique mind and develop compassionate coping strategies.
Chronic Illness: Managing the profound emotional toll and identity shifts that come with long-term physical health conditions.
Practice description
Because every individual is unique, I do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. My practice blends three highly respected therapeutic modalities to best support your needs:
Person-Centred & Gestalt: I meet you exactly where you are today, focusing on your immediate awareness, bodily feelings, and your capacity for personal growth in a warm, empathetic environment.
Psychodynamic: We can gently look at how your past experiences, early relationships, and unconscious patterns might be shaping how you feel and behave in the present.
Systemic: Having earned my Master’s degree from the world-renowned Tavistock Centre, I look at the "bigger picture", how your family, work environment, and wider social systems impact your mental health.
My first session
Our initial consultation is a gentle opportunity for us to get to know each other. There is no pressure. We will simply talk through what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain from it, and ensure that you feel comfortable and safe working with me.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP and my practice is strictly grounded in their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, ensuring the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professional care.
