I work as a counsellor Monday to Wednesday.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a humanistic counsellor offering a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space in which clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. My approach is grounded in the core principles of empathy and authenticity. I believe that each individual has an inherent capacity for growth and self-understanding, and my role is to facilitate this process rather than direct it.
I work collaboratively with clients, valuing their autonomy and unique perspective. My practice is client-led, meaning that sessions are guided by what feels most important and relevant to you. I aim to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and accepted, enabling them to explore both current challenges and deeper emotional patterns.
I have experience supporting clients with a range of issues, which may include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and feelings of overwhelm. I also welcome clients who may not have a specific issue but wish to gain greater self-awareness or personal insight.
My work is informed by humanistic theories such as person-centred therapy, and I may integrate elements from other approaches where appropriate, while remaining grounded in a humanistic philosophy. I am committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice to ensure I work ethically and effectively.
I adhere to the ethical framework of the BACP, maintaining confidentiality, professional boundaries, and a commitment to client wellbeing at all times.
I offer face to face counselling to adults. My aim is to support clients in developing greater self-acceptance, resilience, and the ability to make meaningful choices and change in their lives.
Practice description
I hold a PgDip in Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Brighton. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and respect for your individual experience. I work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches and working creatively to tailor our sessions to your needs.
Alongside my private practice, I have experience working as a counsellor in a local college with students aged 16 and above, and as a midwife within the NHS; supporting people through some of life’s most significant and vulnerable moments.
As someone with lived experience of being queer and neurodivergent, I am passionate about offering affirming, inclusive support. I aim to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and accepted just as you are.
I work with adults of all ages and welcome people from all backgrounds.
