About me and my therapy practice

I believe that everyone, regardless of background, identity, ability or neurotype, deserves to feel heard, understood and accepted. I aim to offer a warm, empathetic and non-judgemental space where we can develop a trusting therapeutic relationship at a pace that feels right for you.

I work integratively, tailoring therapy to each individual rather than expecting you to fit a particular model. My practice has a person-centred foundation and is informed by psychodynamic and attachment theory, with a trauma-informed approach throughout. This allows us to draw on different ways of understanding your experiences according to what feels most useful to you.

I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent adults, including autistic and ADHD clients. I continue to develop this area through professional development, research and reflective practice. I work in a neurodivergent-affirming way, recognising that difficulties may arise not because there is something inherently wrong with an individual, but through navigating environments and expectations that do not always recognise or accommodate different ways of experiencing the world.

Where relevant, our work might include exploring masking, burnout, overwhelm, sensory needs, executive functioning, emotional regulation, identity or the impact of receiving a diagnosis or discovering your neurodivergence later in life. I aim to support you in developing greater understanding and acceptance of yourself, recognising your strengths and needs, and finding approaches that work with rather than against your natural way of being.

The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. We may explore past experiences, relationships and patterns alongside what is happening for you in the present, helping you develop greater self-awareness and find ways forward that feel meaningful to you. I may also draw on practical techniques from a range of therapeutic approaches where these are helpful.

Practice description

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor working with adults and older adults. I offer a collaborative and individualised approach, adapting our work to your needs, experiences and preferences.

You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about or what you want to change. We can work that out together. My priorities are that you feel safe, heard and understood, and that we work at a pace that feels manageable for you.

My first session

I offer a free initial 15-minute consultation, giving us an opportunity to start getting to know each other and explore what has brought you to therapy.

It is an informal conversation where you can ask questions, tell me a little about what you are looking for, and get a sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you. There is no obligation to continue.

If we decide to work together, we can discuss what would suit you best. Sessions are usually 50 minutes and weekly, but we can work collaboratively to agree arrangements that feel appropriate for both of us.
