About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Yasmin Ahmed, a qualified integrative counsellor and registered MBACP.
I run The Centre Within Counselling, where I offer a calm, supportive online space for adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin.
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, so I work gently and at your pace. Together, we explore what’s going on for you in a way that feels safe and manageable.
I draw on different approaches depending on what you need, so the work is always tailored to you rather than fixed or formula-based.
I aim to help you understand yourself more clearly, feel more grounded, and reconnect with your own sense of strength.
I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, offering a professional and confidential service.
Practice description
I offer online counselling for adults (18+) in a calm, supportive space where you can speak freely and feel heard without judgement.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different ways of working to suit you as an individual. This can include exploring present-day challenges, underlying patterns, or earlier experiences that may still affect how you feel today — including parts work, such as inner-child themes, where helpful.
I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, stress, burnout, low mood, trauma, relationship difficulties, co-dependency, family issues, estrangement, life transitions and many more.
You don’t need to have things figured out before starting. Many people come with a sense that something feels stuck, overwhelming, or not quite right.
The aim is to help you understand yourself more clearly, reduce emotional overwhelm, and feel more grounded and steady within yourself over time.
My first session
This session is the same fee as ongoing sessions and is the first part of our work together.
We will talk about what’s brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping for, and go through any practical information needed for working together.
I work in a gentle, client-led way, so there is no pressure to share anything you’re not ready for. We go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
