About me and my therapy practice
Counselling is a collaborative process – together, we’ll work at your pace to explore what matters most to you. There is no right or wrong way to use your sessions. Counselling can be what you make it. Your goals are unique and individual to you – each story is important, valued and recognised.
My approach is person centred, where we will take the sessions at your pace, and you choose what to bring to each session. My approach is grounded in empathy, respect and genuine care for each individual’s unique journey.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. While everyone’s experience is unique, I have supported clients with a range of difficulties. I do not promise to have all the answers, but I offer a thoughtful, supportive space to explore what is happening for you.
Practice description
You will be listened to and understood in our sessions. I work in a Person-Centred way, so the working relationship between us is a strong foundation on which you will be able to make the changes you want. I will work with you with an open and inquisitive style. You will be in the driving seat at all times, no rush or pressure. There is no right or wrong way to use our time together.
Working together, we can shape our sessions around your individual needs, helping you find what you need and are looking for.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute call before our first 50 minute online session which is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions about how I work and what to expect from therapy. If after our 15 minute call you decide we are the right fit I will send an online link 24 hours before our 50 minute session. I will also send a contract for you to sign and send over before our first session. In this session we can further explore what brings you to therapy and your goals.
First sessions can usually be arranged with one week’s notice and will be at the same day and time each week to ensure stability around the needs of your routine and lifestyle.
