About me and my therapy practice
I'll work alongside you to explore the difficulties you're experiencing, understand what may be contributing to them, and discover possibilities for moving forward in ways that feel right for you.
Whether you're experiencing anxiety, low mood, difficult relationships, self-criticism, or simply feeling stuck, we'll take time to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, making sense of what might be happening in your life.
My approach is grounded in Transactional Analysis, which can help us recognise patterns in how we think, feel, behave and relate to others. Together, we can explore whether these patterns are still helpful to you and consider different perspectives and choices.
I believe that people have a natural movement towards growth, healing and becoming. Sometimes our experiences, relationships or wider circumstances can restrict that movement. I recognise that difficulties don't always originate within us, and we'll consider the wider influences on your wellbeing alongside your personal experiences.
Our relationship will be collaborative, respectful and guided by what matters to you. I'll offer a welcoming, confidential space where we can explore your experiences at a pace that feels manageable.
Outside counselling, my interests include traditional martial arts, meditation, gaming, storytelling and podcasting. I'm naturally curious about people and different perspectives, and I hope sharing a little of myself helps you get a sense of the person you might be working with.
If you're considering counselling, you're welcome to get in touch so we can explore whether working together might be helpful.
Practice description
Hidden Dragon Holistics is my private counselling practice, offering individual counselling for adults aged 18 and over.
Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly. Face-to-face appointments are available in Rowlands Gill and Winlaton, Gateshead. I also offer UK-wide remote counselling by online video, online voice-only or telephone.
Before counselling begins, we'll complete an assessment to consider your needs, the suitability of the service and any practical arrangements.
I use a secure client portal for forms, appointments and payments. Accessibility or communication needs can be discussed at any stage, and I'll make reasonable adjustments wherever possible.
My first session
Before your first appointment, we'll normally have completed an assessment to explore your needs and whether the counselling I offer is suitable for you.
If we agree to work together, I'll send you the counselling agreement to read beforehand.
Your first appointment lasts 50 minutes and costs £60, payable in advance.
We'll begin by discussing the counselling agreement, including confidentiality, boundaries and practical arrangements. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions before deciding whether you're happy to proceed.
Once we've agreed and signed or acknowledged the agreement, we can use the remaining time to begin exploring what you'd like to work on together.
