About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to suit you as an individual, rather than working in a one-size-fits-all way. My work is primarily relational and person-centred, with influences from cognitive, psychodynamic and existential therapy.

At the heart of my approach is the therapeutic relationship. I aim to offer a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted, without judgement. From this foundation, we can begin to explore what is troubling you at a pace that feels right for you.

Depending on your needs, our work may involve exploring present-day challenges, making sense of patterns in relationships, or understanding how past experiences continue to shape how you feel and respond today. I may also gently support you in noticing unhelpful thinking patterns and developing new ways of relating to yourself and others.

I believe therapy is not about fixing you, but about helping you understand yourself more deeply and find a way forward that feels more aligned and sustainable.

I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, relationship issues, loss, and questions around meaning and direction in life.

Practice description

I offer a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly about whatever is on your mind.

I work in an integrative way, drawing on person-centred, cognitive, psychodynamic and existential approaches. This allows me to adapt the work to you as an individual, rather than applying a fixed method.

In our sessions, we will focus on what feels most important to you. This may involve exploring current difficulties, understanding patterns in relationships, or making sense of past experiences and how they continue to affect you in the present.

I place particular emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, as I believe meaningful change often comes through feeling heard, understood and accepted. Alongside this, I may gently support you in noticing patterns in your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and exploring alternative ways of responding.

I aim to work at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your experience, while also supporting you to move towards greater clarity, resilience and self-understanding.

I offer both short-term and longer-term work, depending on your needs.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk through what has brought you to therapy, and begin to get a sense of whether we feel comfortable working together.

I will ask some questions to understand your current situation, any relevant background, and what you would like from therapy. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to, and we will go at a pace that feels manageable for you.

You are also welcome to ask any questions about how I work.

Towards the end of the session, we can reflect on whether you would like to continue and agree on a way of working that feels right for you.

The first session is charged at my standard rate.
