About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Jane. I offer online and in-person counselling for adults aged 18 and over, providing a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space to talk. My aim is to offer a warm, steady therapeutic relationship where you can feel heard, understood and accepted. I work collaboratively and at your pace, tailoring sessions to your needs and goals.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on person-centred, humanistic, Gestalt, phenomenological and Transactional analysis approaches, while keeping your individual experience at the centre of our work. My approach is relationship-focused. Together, we can explore what is happening now, how earlier experiences may influence present-day feelings and choices, and what may support you moving forward.
Counselling can help bring patterns into awareness with kindness and curiosity, supporting clarity, self-compassion and choice. I support clients with bereavement and loss, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, overwhelm, and feeling stuck.
Before becoming a Counsellor, I worked in senior organisational roles, giving me insight into workplace pressures, change, boundaries and the impact demanding roles can have on well being.
A specialist area of my practice is family creation. I support individuals and intended parents finding their own route, including trying to conceive, fertility treatment, donor conception, surrogacy or adoption. These journeys can bring hope, uncertainty, grief and strain on relationships, and my BICA training informs sensitive, non-judgemental support.
I also work with bereavement, offering space to explore grief and loss at your pace, with care, steadiness and respect.
You are very welcome to get in touch and ask any questions or arrange an initial conversation with me.

Practice description
I offer in-person and online counselling. Online therapy can offer flexibility, comfort and accessibility, while in-person sessions provide a dedicated setting away from home or work. However we meet, the focus is on creating a consistent, respectful therapeutic space where you can bring what feels important.
In-person sessions take place in a quiet, comfortable therapy room in Hedsor, Buckinghamshire, close to Bourne End, Wooburn Green, Cookham, Maidenhead, Marlow and Beaconsfield. Safe, free parking is available.
Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £50.
My first session
Finding the right therapist is deeply personal, therefore I offer a free, no-obligation 30-minute initial conversation (Online or by phone), giving you an opportunity to meet me, gain a sense of how I work and decide whether you feel comfortable before making any further commitment.
This conversation allows us both to consider whether we are a good fit. I want to understand about you as a person, your background, personal story and what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life. You can share any needs, concerns or hopes you have for counselling and ask questions about my approach. I will explain how I work and what our sessions may feel like so that you can make an informed choice about whether I am the right therapist for you.
The therapeutic relationship is central to counselling. Our first contact begins the process of building a safe, trusting and collaborative partnership in which you feel heard, respected and able to be yourself.
If you decide that you would like to work with me, subsequent sessions are usually 50 minutes. We can discuss how frequently we meet and whether a set number of sessions or open-ended therapy would best suit you. We will review this together as the work develops.
We will also go through an assessment and therapeutic agreement together, covering practical arrangements, confidentiality, boundaries and what we can each expect from our work.
