About me and my therapy practice
My name is Mohammed, and I’m a qualified counsellor (CPCAB Level 4) and a Registered Member of the BACP. My approach is warm, grounded, and human. I am an integrative therapist with roots in Psychodynamic and Person Centred counselling.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent years working on the frontline with people facing homelessness, trauma, crisis, and overwhelming life situations. That experience shaped the way I work today: with compassion, honesty, and a deep respect for the strength it takes simply to keep going.
I understand what it’s like to feel stuck, lost, or weighed down by things you’ve carried for too long. I also understand how powerful it can be to have someone truly listen not to judge, fix, or analyse you, but to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences.
I welcome people from all backgrounds, and I hold space for the parts of you that may feel unseen, unheard, or misunderstood. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, identity struggles, relationship issues, stress, low mood, or simply trying to understand yourself better, I’m here to support you at a pace that feels safe.
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor, drawing on person‑centred and psychodynamic approaches while also paying close attention to what the body holds. My practice is grounded in the belief that emotional pain is not only a psychological experience but also something we carry physically. I work gently and collaboratively to help you understand both your inner world and the embodied responses that may have developed over time.
As a person‑centred therapist, I offer a warm, non‑judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to support you in reconnecting with your own clarity, strength, and sense of self.
From a psychodynamic perspective, I help you explore how past experiences, relationships, and early attachments may be influencing your present‑day emotions and patterns. This can include working with the inner child, the younger parts of you that may still be holding unmet needs, fears, or emotional wounds.
I also incorporate parts work, which recognises that we all have different “parts” or aspects of ourselves that show up in different situations. Some parts may feel anxious, protective, overwhelmed, or stuck. Others may be striving, critical, or exhausted. In therapy, we explore these parts with curiosity and compassion, helping them work together rather than against each other.
My first session
I offer a free 20‑minute introductory chat so we can get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit. This is an informal conversation where you can share what brings you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a feel for my approach. There is no pressure to commit: it’s simply a space for you to see if working together feels right.
If you decide to continue, our first full session will focus on understanding what you’re hoping for from therapy and what feels most important for you right now. I won’t ask you to go into anything before you’re ready. Instead, we take time to explore your pace, your comfort level, and what support looks like for you.
I may ask a few grounding questions to help us build a shared understanding of your needs, but the session is led by you. My aim is to create a safe, calm space where you can begin to settle into the work and feel supported from the very beginning.
