About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Celia — it’s really nice to meet you.
Perhaps you’ve spent years putting everyone else first. On the outside you seem to be coping, but inside you feel overwhelmed, disconnected or stuck. Maybe you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship difficulties. Or perhaps you’re starting to wonder why certain patterns keep repeating or why life feels harder than it used to.
Counselling can offer a space to pause, reflect and begin to find clarity again. I offer warmth, compassion and confidentiality, a place where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement, at a pace that feels right for you.
I have over 20 years’ experience supporting children, young people and adults, in various caring roles, including 10 years supporting people with their mental health. My experience has given me a deep understanding of the challenges people can face at different life stages. I have also undertaken additional training focused on counselling children and young people since completing my core therapeutic training.
I am integratively trained in different counselling theories which means I can tailor our sessions to best suit your individual needs, helping you better understand yourself, your relationships and your patterns. My main priority however is that our work together is always underpinned by empathy, respect and the therapeutic relationship.
As your counsellor, I will work with you to explore and make sense of your experiences, helping you gain insight, build resilience and find a way forward that feels right for you. Counselling can help you reconnect with your strengths, develop a deeper understanding of yourself and help you to move towards a life that feels more personally aligned and fulfilling.
Whether you’re looking for short-term support or deeper therapeutic work, you don’t have to navigate things alone. I’m here to support you in a way that feels safe, supportive and respectful.
Thank you for being here, and take good care,
Celia
Practice description
I offer counselling in person from The Practice Rooms in Oxford, providing a private and comfortable space where we can work together face to face. I also offer online sessions or walk-and-talk counselling in and around Witney, if you feel one of these options would suit you better.
I believe that having a consistent and supportive therapeutic space can help you feel more comfortable exploring whatever has brought you to counselling. Our work will be guided by you, and we can take time to understand what you are experiencing, what you would like to change or understand, and what you hope to gain from counselling.
I generally recommend weekly sessions to support consistency and allow the therapeutic work to develop over time. However, I understand that life does not always fit neatly into a fixed routine, and fortnightly sessions can also be arranged where this feels more manageable and is compatible with availability. My availability for fortnightly sessions is limited to weekends.
During our initial conversation, we can talk through what has brought you to counselling, how you would like to work and which format feels most appropriate for you. Whether we work together in person, online or through walk-and-talk sessions, my aim is to provide a space where you feel comfortable, heard and able to explore things at your own pace.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what is bringing you to counselling at this time. While I do not carry out a formal assessment, I may ask some gentle questions to help me gain a better understanding of you, your story, and different aspects of your life, both past and present. This is simply to help me understand you more fully, and there is no expectation for you to go into anything before you feel ready.
Some people arrive knowing exactly what they would like to talk about, while others may feel unsure where to begin — both are completely okay. Together, we may begin to explore what you would like to gain from counselling and what support might feel most helpful for you.
There is no pressure to share anything you do not feel comfortable exploring. Our work together is guided by you, with space to move at your own pace and focus on what feels most important to you.
The first session may feel slightly more structured or directive than future sessions as we begin building a picture of what is going on for you and how we might work together.
During the first session, I will also check your understanding of my counselling contract, which I will have sent you before we meet. Particularly I need to be clear around confidentiality and its limits, so that we have a shared understanding of what to expect within our ongoing professional relationship.
Importantly, the first session is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether I feel like the right counsellor for you, and there is no obligation to continue after that session. My hope is that you will leave feeling heard, supported, and clearer about the best next steps for you.

I offer counselling both online and in person, with the option of walk-and-talk sessions in and around Witney. We can discuss the different options during our initial conversation and consider what feels most comfortable and appropriate for you.
Walk-and-talk counselling can offer a different way of engaging with therapy, allowing us to work therapeutically while walking outdoors. If this is something you are interested in, we can explore whether it feels like a good fit for you during that initial conversation.
Weekly sessions are generally recommended to support consistency and allow the therapeutic work to flow and develop more fully. However, I also understand that life does not always fit neatly into a fixed routine, so I aim to offer some flexibility where possible. Fortnightly sessions can also be arranged if this feels more manageable for you. This is subject to availability.
I aim to offer a thoughtful and flexible approach while maintaining a consistent therapeutic space. During our initial call, we can talk through how you would like to work, what you are hoping to gain from counselling, and the practical arrangements that might work best for you.
Whether you choose to work online, or in person through walk-and-talk sessions, my aim is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard and able to explore what has brought you to counselling at your own pace.
