About me and my therapy practice
Life can be messy, full of contradictions and chaos. In this space you are welcome exactly as you are, and every part of you belongs.
I'm Sabrin, a qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I work psychodynamically and person-centredly, which in practice means two things. You lead, and I follow what matters to you, without judgement. And together we gently notice patterns, including ones that may have begun long before now.
The relationship between us is at the centre of how I work. It's in the space between two people, when there's enough safety and honesty, that we can look at things that are hard to look at alone.
People come to me with and not limited to, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, and questions of identity, culture and belonging and women's health. Often with things that are harder to name than that, or a sense that what they're carrying didn't begin with them.
I'm curious about your story, your history and the culture that shaped you. You don't need to translate yourself for me.
I spent years working in special educational needs settings, neurodiversity and in mental health charities, and I come from an arts and creative background and implementing my knowledge and ways of working into my practise. I bring all of that into the room.
Practice description
I draw mainly on psychodynamic and person-centred approaches, and the way we work takes shape around you: your history, presenting issues and your pace and what you bring each week. No two people's therapy looks the same, and it isn't meant to.
There's no right or wrong way to do this. You don't need to arrive with a goal, the right words, or a sense of what you should be talking about. Some weeks you'll know exactly what you want to explore, and other weeks you won't. Both are part of the work.
I work relationally. The relationship between us is at the centre of everything, and it's often in that relationship, when there's enough safety and honesty, that patterns become visible: how you relate to others, to yourself, and to what came before you.
I follow what matters to you without judgement and I stay curious about where things began, including the parts that feel harder to name or that may have been passed down.I bring these together in whatever way fits you, rather than fitting you to a method.
There's no fixed number of sessions. We check in together as we go, and when to finish is always your decision.
All sessions are online by secure video, 50 minutes, weekly, £60, with a small number of lower-cost spaces for people who need them.
My first session
We'd start with a free 25-minute call before deciding to commit. It's a chance to get a sense of each other, for you to ask me anything about how I work, and for us both to see whether it feels right.
If you'd rather write than talk, you're welcome to email me first instead.
A lot of the first sessions is about building some safety between us. I'll ask a few questions to help us get started, and you can tell me as much or as little about your story as you want to, at whatever pace feels right. I'll also explain how confidentiality works and answer any questions you have.
You don't need the right words or a clear idea of what you want to explore. If you don't know where to start, we start with that.
