About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to Cedar Lodge Counselling. My name is Megan, and I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting, and my aim is to provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to talk openly at your own pace.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor working with adults and young people across Lichfield and the surrounding areas. My approach is person-centred at its core, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life and experiences. I tailor therapy to each individual client, drawing from different therapeutic approaches to best support your unique needs, goals, and circumstances.

I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, trauma, emotional overwhelm, and feelings of being stuck or disconnected. I also support clients experiencing life transitions, family difficulties, and challenges around identity, confidence, and self-worth.

My therapeutic style is gentle, collaborative, and grounded in empathy. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of counselling, and I strive to create an environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood without fear of judgement.

Sessions are led at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Whether you are looking for short-term support to work through a current difficulty or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns and experiences, we can work together to help you gain clarity, develop coping strategies, and move towards positive change.

I offer both in-person and online counselling sessions and welcome clients from all backgrounds. Taking the first step towards therapy can be difficult, but you do not have to face things alone. I offer a free 15 minute consultation where you can see if I might be the right fit for your therapy needs.

I look forwards to hearing from you

Cedar Lodge Counselling is committed to creating strong therapeutic relationships built on trust, empathy, and authenticity. The environment is intentionally calming and client-focused, helping people feel comfortable enough to openly explore what matters most to them at their own pace.

Reaching out for counselling can often feel like the hardest step, but the practice is dedicated to making that first contact feel as welcoming and supportive as possible.

My first session

Starting counselling for the first time can feel unfamiliar or even overwhelming, so my aim is to make your first session feel as comfortable, relaxed, and supportive as possible.

Our initial session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and to explore what has brought you to counselling. There is no pressure to share everything straight away, and you are welcome to move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

During the first session, we will discuss what you would like support with, any goals you may have for therapy, and how we can work together in a way that best suits your individual needs. I will also explain how I work, answer any questions you may have, and go through confidentiality and the counselling agreement so that you feel informed and reassured throughout the process.

I understand that finding the right counsellor is important, which is why I encourage clients to use the first session to see whether they feel comfortable, safe, and supported working with me. Building trust within the therapeutic relationship is a key part of effective counselling.

Sessions are available face-to-face at the Lodge, online via Zoom, or by telephone, allowing you to choose the environment that feels most comfortable for you. My aim is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and supported, with a clearer sense of how counselling may help you moving forward.
