About me and my therapy practice

I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially when you may already be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or struggling to cope with life’s challenges alone. I aim to offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted at your own pace.

Alongside my work within NHS CAMHS as an Associate Mental Health Practitioner, I work with children, young people and women experiencing a range of emotional difficulties including anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, grief and life changes. I am trauma-informed and neuro-affirming in my approach, recognising the importance of emotional safety, individual differences and working at a pace that feels manageable and supportive.

I also have experience supporting clients through bereavement, including complex grief and suicide bereavement. I understand that grief can affect people in very different ways and that some losses can feel particularly isolating, confusing or difficult to process.

My approach is relational and person-centred, while tailoring therapy to each person's individual needs. I value creating a genuine therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy and compassion. Therapy can provide space to explore experiences, develop self-understanding and feel less alone with what you may be carrying.

Whether you are looking for short-term support around a specific issue or space to explore deeper experiences and patterns, I will work alongside you in a way that feels supportive and tailored to your individual needs.

Practice description

I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental therapeutic space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

I currently offer sessions for children, young people and women. Sessions are available online and are typically 50 minutes in length. For children and young people, I may also be able to offer sessions within school settings where appropriate arrangements are in place.

I understand that beginning therapy can feel anxiety-provoking, so I aim to create a calm, collaborative and emotionally safe environment where you feel listened to, understood and supported.

My approach is person-centred, relational, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming, while tailoring therapy to each individual’s unique needs and experiences. I work with a range of emotional difficulties including anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, emotional overwhelm, grief, bereavement, relationship difficulties and life changes. I also have experience supporting clients through complex grief and suicide bereavement.

I currently offer appointments on Mondays and Fridays between 9:30am and 5:00pm. Please feel free to contact me to discuss availability or ask any questions before arranging an initial session.

My first session

I understand that attending a first therapy session can feel daunting, especially if you have never had counselling before. The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other, explore what has brought you to therapy and discuss what support you may be looking for.

When working with children and young people, I recognise the importance of building trust and creating a space where they feel emotionally safe and comfortable. Initial sessions may involve gathering information from parents or carers where appropriate, and I aim to work collaboratively while keeping the child or young person's wellbeing at the centre of the process.

There is no pressure to share everything straight away, and we will work at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you. I aim to create a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel safe to talk openly.

The initial session will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about therapy, how I work and whether we feel like the right fit to work together.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length and are held online.
