Availability

I currently have availability for new clients and welcome enquiries for both short and longer-term therapy.

Sessions are offered online and in person, subject to availability. I aim to provide a calm, supportive, and confidential space in which we can begin to explore whatever may be bringing you to therapy.

My working hours generally include weekday daytime and evening appointments. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss current availability and suitable appointment times.

If I am unable to offer you a suitable appointment immediately, I will always do my best to advise you of likely waiting times or alternative options.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a thoughtful, compassionate, and confidential space in which we can begin to explore whatever may be bringing you to therapy.

My approach is primarily psychodynamic, which means that alongside exploring present difficulties, we may also become curious about the deeper emotional patterns, relationships, and past experiences that can shape how we experience ourselves and others today. Often, struggles such as anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, burnout, feelings of emptiness, or a sense of being “stuck” can have roots that sit outside of our immediate awareness.

Therapy is not about judgement or quick fixes. Instead, I aim to work collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable and safe for you. Some clients come with a very clear understanding of what they would like help with, whilst others simply know that something does not feel quite right. Both are entirely welcome.

I place great importance on building a therapeutic relationship that feels containing, authentic, and emotionally attuned. I believe meaningful change often emerges through feeling heard, understood, and able to think more openly about our experiences.

Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I also work professionally within aviation, and I have a particular understanding of the pressures associated with high-responsibility roles, performance environments, stress, identity, and emotional fatigue. However, I welcome clients from all walks of life and backgrounds.

I offer both short and longer-term therapy, either online or in person, depending on availability and individual preference.

Practice description

At Waypoint Psychotherapy, I aim to offer a calm, thoughtful, and confidential space where clients can feel able to speak openly and without judgement.

Beginning therapy can feel like a significant and sometimes daunting step. Many people arrive feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in repeating patterns, or struggling to fully understand why they feel the way they do. My role is not to provide quick answers or simplistic solutions, but to work alongside you in making sense of your experiences with care, curiosity, and compassion.

My practice is grounded primarily in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which explores not only present difficulties, but also the deeper emotional experiences and relational patterns that may sit beneath them. Together, we may begin to understand how past experiences, relationships, expectations, and ways of coping can continue to influence the present.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions, identity struggles, emotional burnout, grief, and feelings of disconnection or emptiness. Some clients come with a clear sense of what they would like help with, whilst others simply recognise a need for space to think, reflect, and feel heard.

Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I also work within aviation in a senior training and leadership role. This gives me particular insight into the pressures associated with high-responsibility professions, performance-driven environments, emotional resilience, and burnout. However, I warmly welcome clients from all backgrounds and walks of life.

I offer both short and longer-term therapy, either online or in person, depending on availability and individual preference. My hope is that therapy can become a space where greater understanding, emotional freedom, and lasting change can gradually emerge.

My first session

The initial session is a 30-minute consultation offered at a reduced fee of £20.

This first meeting provides an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and to think together about what may be bringing you to therapy at this point in your life. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process and to get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.

I understand that beginning therapy can sometimes feel unfamiliar or anxiety-provoking, and there is no expectation for you to arrive knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. Some clients come with a very clear understanding of what they would like help with, whilst others simply have a sense that something does not feel quite right. Both are entirely welcome.

For those who may feel unsure about taking the first step, I also offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone conversation, with no obligation to proceed further. This can provide an opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy, ask any initial questions, and gain a sense of whether I may be the right fit for you.

During the consultation, we will usually explore any current difficulties, relevant background experiences, and what you may hope to gain from therapy. I do not ask clients to complete lengthy assessments or questionnaires beforehand, as I place greater importance on creating a space where you can speak openly and feel heard as an individual.

Following the consultation, there is no obligation to continue. If we decide to work together, ongoing sessions are typically 50 minutes in length and take place weekly.
