About me and my therapy practice

You may find yourself in a painful situation that you can no longer make sense of alone. You may feel uncertain or uneasy, things may seem meaningless and unfair, you may feel that you are going in circles and wonder what to do with your past experiences or the time ahead of you. Voicing your concerns to someone who is willing to hear can change the way that they appear to you. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can help you make sense of the situation you find yourself in, to help you alleviate your suffering and navigate the future.

I currently offer online, open-ended therapy, which means that you can access my services for as long as you need. I can work with a range of difficulties and I have a particular interest in anxiety, family and relationship difficulties, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ and gender related concerns.

I offer a free consultation session for us to converse and see if we’re a good fit. This may involve discussing your reason for coming to therapy and what your expectations for therapy are.

My Experience and Training

I have worked in mental health for 4 years, with experience working with individuals from a variety of cultures, communities and sexualities, with concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship and family difficulties, bereavement, childhood trauma, estrangement and disability.

I have an academic background in existential philosophy and trained at Regent's University for two years earning the equivalent of a PGDip in Psychotherapy and Counselling. Here I trained in existential, psychodynamic and integrative therapy, which means I can adapt a range of approaches to your individual needs. I am currently continuing this training towards a Master's specialising in Existential Psychotherapy.

I am a registered member of the BACP under the registration number 419471.

Practice description

How I Work

Existential therapy is grounded in a philosophy which considers the difficulties of human existence and that everyone has an entirely unique perspective on these difficulties. It pays attention to issues about our relationship with society and others, uncertainty, freedom, limitation and time.

I offer you a confidential space founded on a relationship of trust, curiosity and openness. A space led by you and all about you. I strive to be compassionate, humble, curious and open minded to foster this trust so that we can deeply explore your reality.

This may involve reflecting on your past and present with body and mind, remaining curious about your lived-experience and the meanings you find within it. This often, but not always, involves connecting with difficult emotions and experiences that you feel unable to voice elsewhere.
