About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling that everyone except yourself have their life together and somehow you are different?
If you suspect you might be autistic or have ADHD or you already have a diagnosis and you wonder 'What now?' and 'Who am I?' - I can support you.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, under pressure, or like you’re constantly trying to meet expectations that don’t quite fit you, you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with feel anxious, stuck, exhausted, or unsure of themselves, often after years of masking, trying to cope or pushing through.
I offer a supportive space where we can work in the way your mind works and make sense of what’s going on for you. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on, or have the right words, we can begin wherever you are.
Many people say their sessions helped them to gain clarity and identify the real reason for their distress, worries and overwhelm. Instead of everything feeling quite so intense, they find they can handle things better when they come up. Over time, people often notice the high expectations that are causing anxiety are those of other people. And they begin to recognise their own needs and feel able to give themselves the same time and understanding they often have to others.
Because I am neuro-affirming and value open and honest communication, I’m very happy to talk about your preferences and we can agree what our sessions together are like, for example around questions, structure, pace, or communication style, and I welcome feedback if something simply doesn’t work for you.
Practice description
My approach is integrative and person-centred, drawing on different therapeutic ideas depending on your needs. When helpful, I use concepts from Transactional Analysis to explore patterns in relationships and communication. And I have experience supporting people with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, grief and loss, and feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands.
