About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor with an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. I work with adults, both online and in person.

My approach is relational, collaborative and led by what is important to you. I work with curiosity, honesty and care, and where appropriate, with creativity and moments of humour.

You might be thinking about therapy because you would like to feel more connected to who you are, to feel more alive in your life and body, and to look at things that have happened which might feel like or be part of your identity.

I have experience working with people exploring their sense of who they are, of how present in their lives they feel, and their (dis)connection to themselves, others and the world. Within this, my experience includes working with neurodivergence, anxiety, gender, sexuality, family estrangement, traumatic experiences, grief and loneliness.

Practice description

There are different ways in which we could work together, whether that’s looking at the past, patterns you might see in yourself, or focusing on what is happening for you now.

I’m interested in what it’s like to be you, who you have been, who you are and who you might want to be. I take the responsibility of exploring this together seriously. I approach it gently, with care, and with a strong ethical focus.

Accessibility: Please note that the room I work from for in person sessions is on the third floor and the building has no lift. In terms of available seating in the room, there is an armchair (with arm rests) or a sofa. For online sessions I use Zoom.

My first session

I offer a 20 minute Zoom intro call (no charge) so that you can get a sense of me and whether we might be a good fit. The times available for this are flexible. We can talk about what you’re looking for and any questions you might have.

If you do decide to work with me, the length of time that we work together for would be your choice and we can talk it through. We can work together on a short term basis, perhaps with a fixed number of sessions, or on a more open ended, longer term basis.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and typically take place weekly at the same time. A first session would also be 50 minutes. In the first session we will spend some time talking through the counselling agreement that will frame the work we do together.
