About me and my therapy practice

I offer an active, warm, and collaborative approach to counselling. Rather than sitting back and simply listening, I work alongside you to explore what’s happening beneath the surface; the thoughts, patterns, and emotional responses that may be keeping you stuck or overwhelmed.

My style is relational and grounded. I aim to create a space where you feel understood, but also gently challenged when it’s helpful, so that insight can turn into real change rather than just awareness.

I work with both teenagers and adults who are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, burnout, or difficulty coping with pressure and expectations.

Practice description

I support teenagers and adults who feel like they’re holding it together on the outside but struggling internally.

This often includes anxiety, stress, low mood, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, and feeling overwhelmed by expectations from school, work, family, or themselves.

With teenagers, this can show up as academic pressure, identity development, friendship challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, or family conflict. With adults, it often presents as workplace stress, burnout, relationship patterns, and navigating periods of change or uncertainty.

My background in pastoral and educational support has given me a strong understanding of the pressures faced during formative and transitional stages of life, and how these can impact emotional wellbeing.

My first session

The first session is a space for us to get a sense of what’s going on for you and what you’d like support with.

We’ll explore what has brought you to counselling, what feels most difficult right now, and what you would like to be different. You don’t need to have everything figured out or be able to explain things perfectly. We’ll work it out together.

I may ask some questions to understand your background and current situation, but you stay in control of what you share and at what pace.

By the end of the session, we’ll usually have a sense of whether working together feels right and what ongoing support could look like.
