About me and my therapy practice
At the heart of my practice is a simple but pretty profound belief: how we connect in the room is what matters most.
I work with a relational approach, which means I show up as a real person in the room with you, staying curious, engaged and honest.
I am a straight-talking therapist who will offer a steady reflection of what I see and feel in our work together.
Our sessions are not about "applying a method" to you, but about a real connection between two individuals.
Within this honest, steady relationship, we work together to explore, uncover and undo what might be holding you back, creating the capacity for you to heal, learn and finally take up your own space.
My path to becoming a therapist was built through a lifetime of navigating high-pressure environments, transitions and personal recovery.
Before moving into psychotherapy, my career spanned the corporate world, from marketing roles and Brand Management for a global skincare company to fifteen years running my own interior design business.
I understand the exhaustion of maintaining an outward image, whether for a brand, a home, or a life, while feeling the intense pressure to succeed and the quiet fear of “failing".
Having navigated my own struggles I know firsthand what it takes to move from shrinking yourself to believing you deserve to take up space.
My life has been defined by change; I have lived abroad, navigated many personal moves and experienced the profound reality of loving and losing.
Today, my life is grounded in simpler, more vital things: being a mother, running my practice and the steady, uncomplicated presence of my beautiful black Labrador.
I bring all of this, along with my warmth, my experience and my focus on our connection into the room with you.
Practice description
In a world full of demands, finding space to unpick your thoughts and make sense of how you feel isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed with life, struggling with a loss or wanting to feel more connected to yourself - I’m here to help.
Investing in your own headspace isn’t just for right now. It’s about building a solid foundation for your future.
I am a qualified therapist with an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, so rather than a "one size fits all" approach, I draw on different therapeutic tools to suit what you actually need.
My practice is relational and humanistic. In plain English, that means I see you as a whole person, not a set of symptoms. We work together as equals, creating a steady environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
At the heart of my work is helping you learn how to take up more space. So many of us are used to making ourselves "smaller" - editing our words, managing our emotions for others, or feeling like we have to perform. Whether we are unpicking long-standing patterns or finding practical ways to handle the noise of daily life, my goal is to help you feel more solid in yourself and take ownership of your own life again.
I work on both a short and long-term basis, depending on your needs. We will have regular reviews together to check in on our progress and how you feel the sessions are going, ensuring the work remains focused on what matters most to you.
My first session
How Can I Help You?
We start by exploring what's brought you here and what you want to work on - not rigid targets, but starting points. My approach is collaborative and flexible, at a pace you control.
Every week is different, so depending on what you need, we might:
Focus on the 'here & now': managing immediate stress and getting through the week.
Look a bit deeper: exploring past experiences, relationships and how you tend to react under pressure.
The goal is to find what genuinely works for your life, so you can live in a way that feels sustainable rather than forced.
Areas of Support
Whatever has brought you here, you don't need the "right words" yet, that's part of what therapy is for.
Below are the areas I have particular experience and specialism in. If you're not sure which fits, that's completely normal too, get in touch and we can talk it through.
- Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence & Self-Criticism
- Life Transitions
- Anxiety & Overwhelm
- Grief, Loss, & Bereavement (including loss by suicide)
- Therapy For Men
Self-Esteem, Self-Doubt & Self-Criticism: If a harsh inner critic holds you back, we'll explore where it comes from and build something steadier underneath it.
Grief & Bereavement (including suicide loss): Whatever your loss, including the complex pain of bereavement by suicide, I offer specialist experience and genuine space to grieve at your own pace.
Life Transitions: Relationship, career, relocation, family, identity (menopause, parenthood), health or ageing changes - we'll work through the upheaval and who you are within it.
Anxiety & Overwhelm: If overthinking, avoidance or feeling on edge is familiar, we'll look at what's driving it and build practical daily tools.
Therapy for Men: Men often feel less able to reach out. You're just as entitled to this space, without judgement.
Whatever's brought you here, expect a straight-talking, non-judgemental space, honest input and practical tools for real, lasting change - not just talk about it.
