About me and my therapy practice
I’m an Integrative Counsellor (MBACP) offering a warm, steady, relational space for adults who want to understand themselves more deeply and feel more grounded in their day‑to‑day lives. My practice is rooted in person‑centred values, shaped by a relational lens, and supported by CBT‑informed strategies, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
I work collaboratively and at your pace. Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or unsure how to move forward. Together, we slow things down and explore what’s happening internally — your emotions, beliefs, and lived experiences — so you can make sense of what you’re carrying and begin to respond rather than react. My aim is to help you build self‑trust, strengthen boundaries, and develop practical tools that support real‑world change.
I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, low confidence, people‑pleasing, emotional regulation, trauma impact, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. My background includes over 20 years in people‑focused roles such as HR, coaching, dementia care, and therapeutic group work. This allows me to bring a grounded understanding of workplace stress, identity shifts, and the complexities of modern family and relational life.
My style is warm, honest, and human. I offer a space where you can explore without judgement, feel understood, and reconnect with your strengths. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you — it’s about helping you understand yourself more compassionately and supporting you as you move towards steadiness, clarity, and emotional confidence,
Practice description
My practice offers a calm, consistent space where you can talk openly, think clearly, and work through what’s been affecting your wellbeing. Sessions are structured around what you bring each week, with a focus on helping you understand your internal experience and make practical, grounded changes in your day‑to‑day life. I work in an integrative way, using person‑centred foundations alongside relational exploration, CBT‑informed tools, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing when they support your goals.
You can expect a steady pace, clear communication, and a therapeutic environment where you are listened to carefully and responded to honestly. I pay close attention to patterns, emotional responses, and the impact of stress, relationships, and past experiences on how you’re coping now. When helpful, I offer gentle challenge or alternative perspectives to support deeper insight and more confident decision‑making.
My practice is suitable for adults who want to improve emotional regulation, reduce overwhelm, strengthen boundaries, or understand recurring patterns in relationships or behaviour. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, low confidence, people‑pleasing, trauma impact, workplace pressure, and periods of transition.
Sessions are collaborative and grounded. You won’t be pushed to disclose more than you’re ready for, and you won’t be given generic advice. Instead, we focus on developing clarity, steadiness, and practical strategies that fit your life. My aim is to provide a reliable therapeutic space where you can explore what’s difficult and build changes that feel sustainable.
My first session
Your first session is a 50‑minute assessment where we explore what brings you to therapy, what you’re finding difficult, and what you hope to change. I’ll explain how I work, outline confidentiality and boundaries, and answer any questions. You won’t be rushed or expected to share everything — the aim is simply to establish a clear starting point and see if working together feels right.
