About me and my therapy practice

“I believe where there is a willingness to change, there is a way. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Whatever has brought you here, you’re welcome.

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or in need of a safe space to pause, reflect and begin your journey towards healing and change?

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor with over nine years’ experience working within NHS mental health crisis pathway services. During this time, I have supported adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss and life transitions. I have also worked with people from diverse backgrounds and with complex mental health needs.

I offer a warm, safe and confidential space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement. Together, we can explore your experiences, emotions, identity, relationships and patterns that may no longer be serving you. Counselling can help you develop greater self-understanding, process difficult experiences and make more intentional and empowering choices.

I do not believe you need to be “fixed”. I believe you are a whole person with your own strengths, experiences and capacity for growth. My role is to walk alongside you, offering empathy, authenticity, acceptance and respect while supporting you to find your own way forward.

My Christian faith informs my values, but I respect and welcome people of all backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, sexual orientations and identities. I will not impose my beliefs on you. If faith or spirituality is important to you, we can explore this as part of our work if you wish.

Above all, I aim to create a therapeutic relationship where you can be yourself, feel valued and explore what matters to you at your own pace.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Whatever has brought you here, I’m here to listen.

Practice description

I offer one-to-one counselling sessions in-person, online or by telephone, for anyone aged 18 and above. In-person sessions take place at Corby NN17 in Northamptonshire.

I am a compassionate and dedicated qualified Counsellor specialising in Person-Centred modality working within a pluralistic framework and a certified coach.

I am experienced in providing ethical, client-led therapeutic support to diverse clients with complex emotional and psychological difficulties. Skilled in creating safe, empathic, non-judgmental environments that foster growth, self-awareness, and resilience. Committed to ethical practice, reflective supervision, and ongoing professional development to ensure safe and effective support.

At the heart of my practice is you. I believe meaningful healing grows from genuine human connection. I offer a space grounded in warmth, empathy, and honesty meeting you as a person, not as someone to be fixed, and walking alongside you with care and compassion.

Alongside counselling, I may integrate coaching approaches where appropriate to support clients in developing a deeper understanding of themselves, while also working towards meaningful and practical changes in their lives.

Beside my private practice, I also work with charities: Lake land hospice Corby, Women Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse (New Futures Leicester) and Pegasus Men’s Wellbeing Service.

I support individuals experiencing grief, loss, and complex bereavement. Facilitating emotional processing and adjustment following significant life changes.

I deliver trauma-inform, person-centred therapy to clients with experiences of early sexual trauma.

I work safely within clients’ pace to address shame, attachment difficulties, and self-worth issues.

I provide counselling to clients experiencing emotional distress, identity concerns, relationship difficulties, and mental health challenges.

I promote emotional awareness and healthy coping strategies using various resources and psychoeducation.

My first session

I offer a free initial consultation of 10–20 minutes by phone or online. This is an opportunity for us to briefly explore what you are looking for from counselling and what you hope to gain from the process. It also helps us to consider whether I am the right counsellor for your needs and expectations.

You are very welcome to use this time to ask any questions or share any concerns or worries you may have about starting counselling.

If you decide to continue, I will send you a client information form and a counselling contract to complete before your first session.
