I see people near King's Cross in the daytime, a few minutes from King's Cross and St Pancras. I book the room session by session, so I can usually be flexible about which day — Wednesdays and Thursdays currently have good availability.
I also work online, and face to face in Clapham.
About me and my therapy practice
I'm Carolyn, an integrative counsellor and coach, working in North and Central London and online.
I'm no stranger to life's challenges. Before counselling, I made TV programmes. It was an intensely pressured world. Learning how to navigate the harder stretches in both my work and home life has deepened my resilience and my sense of my own agency. Helping you reclaim yours is central to my approach.
People come for all sorts of reasons — anxiety or low mood, a loss or a change, questions of identity and culture, pressure at work, patterns in relationships that keep repeating, or simply a sense that something isn't right and hasn't been for a while. You don't need to know exactly what's wrong, or have the words for it, before you get in touch. Whatever has brought you here is reason enough.
I begin by listening — to you, to your story, and to the places you feel stuck. I'm curious about what sits underneath: the patterns, the earlier experiences, and the things that aren't getting heard. Sessions are unhurried and led by what feels most relevant and important to you, at your pace.
I work as both a counsellor and a coach, so we don't have to choose between understanding something and doing something about it. I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Compassionate Communication, as they're useful to you. The work is deeply compassionate, and it's also practical and for the real world.
I'm not a blank screen: I bring warmth and real curiosity about who you are and what matters to you. I work with adults of all ages and from all backgrounds, and I welcome LGBTQ+ clients.

There's no particular reason you're supposed to have. Some people arrive with something definite — a change, a loss, a decision, a pattern they keep landing in. Others just know something isn't right. Either is enough, and you don't have to have it well worded before you get in touch.

Practice description
I work as both a counsellor and a coach.
Counselling is the inner work — what's underneath, the past, the patterns, the feelings that are hard to name. As those settle, coaching is the forward pull — what you want, and trying things out in the world. We move fluidly between the two, in one relationship.
Whatever's going on, I listen for what sits underneath, and help you reflect on it, so you can see it more clearly.
You may not know yet what you're looking for, or what you need, and that's fine. We can start with a free twenty-minute call and work out where you are and whether I can help.
