About me and my therapy practice

Nature Allied Psychotherapy integrates the therapeutic benefits of natural environments with traditional clinical practice to add depth and perspective to the healing process. Grounded in person-centred values, my practice focuses on establishing a secure, collaborative, and trusting therapeutic alliance. I incorporate creative arts, narrative, and play therapies into my work, prioritising adaptive communication tailored to each individual. By engaging with the natural world, we create a dynamic space to safely explore your emotional landscape, build resilience, and foster meaningful change.

Practice description

What a session might look like in practice:

Because this therapy is tailored entirely to you, our time together can take many forms depending on what feels most useful:

• Walking & Talking: Moving your body outdoors has its own unique therapeutic properties. Walking side-by-side through the woods can feel like the most natural, unforced way to talk at an emotional depth.

• Working with Your Hands: If you find it easier to speak freely when your hands are occupied, having a grounding task—like whittling wooden spoons together while we talk—can help you ease into the conversation.

• Nature Observation: We can use the environment to explore your inner world. Taking binoculars to bird watch or observe nature can help us find meaningful parallels and patterns that mirror your own life experiences.

• Sitting by a Fire: A fire offers a metaphor rich, comforting focal point that naturally relieves the pressure of constant eye contact. It provides warmth on a cold day, a space for metaphor, and a calm centre for deep reflection.

I am also a qualified and BAPT registered Play Therapist.
