About me and my therapy practice
I work as an Integrative Counsellor, which is a formal way of saying that I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. My practice is deeply rooted in being Person-Centred - meaning you are always the expert on your own life - but I bring in different tools depending on what feels right for you.
Neuro-affirming
A big part of my work is supporting neurodivergent individuals (including ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, and those who are exploring or self-identifying). With a neurodivergent brain myself, I find this shared commonality creates a safe, non-judgemental space. Together, we can look at what your unique brain needs, unpack a lifetime of masking, or navigate the heavy weight of burnout. My role isn't to diagnose, but to facilitate exploration.
Open-minded
There isn't much you could bring to therapy that I consider taboo. Whether you’re navigating day-to-day struggles or trying to unpack thoughts, feelings, or identities that feel "too complicated" to talk about anywhere else, there is no judgment here. Just warmth, curiosity, and a safe place to land. As long as you and others are safe, everything is open for exploration.
Whether you’re dealing with work stress, feeling constantly on edge with anxiety, or trying to understand relationship patterns, we will go entirely at your pace. There are no expectations or scripts in our sessions; you are always welcome to turn up exactly as you are.
Practice description
My goal in session is to immerse myself in your world, with a warm heart and open mind. As we move around your world, I'll reflect back what I'm seeing, hearing, feeling, and sensing. You can tell me if you feel my observations are wrong - this helps me understand your world even better, and I strive for a transparent and honest therapeutic relationship.
As you lead me around your world, I may highlight something that you hadn't noticed before, or had long forgotten. This is an important part of therapy; we all have blind spots that are nearly impossible to uncover on our own, but could be impacting us unconsciously in our daily lives. Together, we can bring these things forward, observe them, feel them, and analyse them, with the goal of eventually accepting and integrating them.
We can carry around a sense of guilt for many things - things we've done or haven't done, for feeling certain ways, or not feeling at all. I encourage my clients to get to a place where the guilt feels lighter, which frees up internal space for exploration, healing, and genuine self-acceptance. As Carl Rogers (one of the founders of humanistic psychology) famously said, "the curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
My first session
The first session will be spent exploring why you've come to therapy, what your previous experience of therapy has been, how you would like to work together and what you are hoping to get out of your sessions. This is my entrance into your world and I may ask more questions to get as much information as possible. There may be some light exploration as the conversation unfolds.
My standard fee is £60 per session, with an introductory offer of £50 each for the first three sessions. I also offer concessionary rates for:
