About me and my therapy practice

I am a trauma-informed counsellor and psychotherapist with a special interest in trauma, grief bereavement, relational dynamics, emotional healing and self-development.

I understand that seeking therapy can feel vulnerable, and I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to creating meaningful and lasting change. My approach is warm, reflective compassionate, and grounded in providing a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel head, understood, and supported.

I work collaboratively with clients to explore emotions, life experiences, behavioural patterns, relationships, identity, self-esteem, and personal growth at a pace that feels safe and managable. I recognise the impact that trauma, loss, and difficult relational experiences can have on emotional well-being, self-worth, and connection with others.

Alongside my professional training, I am passionate about supporting individuals in developing greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, healthier boundaries, and a deeper understanding of themselves.

My aim is to help clients feel empowered, supported, and less alone in navigating life's challenges.

Practice description

I am a professionally training counsellor and psychotherapist offering integrative, relational therapy for adults seeking depth, emotional clarity, and lasting psychological change.

I hold a 1:1 Bachelors degree in Counselling, alongside professional counselling training in integrative psychotherapy. My training integrated person-centred, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed approaches, enabling me t work both with present-day challenges and the underlying emotional and relational patterns that shape them.

I have particular experience working with ADHD and neurodivergent clients, supporting difficulties with emotional regulation, overwhelm, rejection sensitivity, and patterns of self-criticism or burnout. My work in this area is grounded in both clinical understanding and a nuanced awareness of how neurodivergence impacts emotional experience, identity and relationships.

A key part of my work includes psycho-education within sessions - helping clients understand their emotional responses, behavioural patterns, and nervous system reactions in a way that reduces shame and increases self-awareness. This process often supports clients to make sense of experiences that have previously felt confusing, overwhelming, and self-critical.

Alongside my core training, I engage in ongoing professional development to ensure my practice remains ethically grounded, current, and clinical robust.

My approach is steady, collaborative, and deeply relational. I prioritise safety and trust while supporting clients gently shift long-standing patterns and develop a more regulated, self-compassionate internal experience.

Clients often seek me out when they are ready to not just manage symptoms, but to understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful, sustainable change in how they relate to themselves and others.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship. I use this session to explore what has brought you to counselling, gain an understanding of your current concerns, and discuss any relevant background information that may help inform our work together.

Rather than a formal assessment, I take a collaborative approach, allowing space for you to share your experiences at your own pace. We will also discuss your goals for therapy, any questions you may have, and how we can work together in a way that feels supportive and beneficial for you.
