I offer flexible appointment times to suit a range of schedules, including early morning, daytime, and evening sessions. I understand that finding time for therapy can be challenging around work family, and other commitments, so I aim to provide appointments that fit around your life wherever possible. If you’re looking for a specific time that isn’t currently available, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, and I’ll do my best to accommodate you.
About me and my therapy practice
I’m an integrative counsellor who believes every person is unique, and therapy should be too. Rather than working from a single approach, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities and theories. This allows me to tailor our work to you as an individual- your experiences, your needs and your goals. I work with adults from all walks of life.
Alongside traditional face-to-face counselling, I also offer walk and talk therapy. This may appeal for those who feel more comfortable outside of a traditional therapy room. Sessions take place outdoors combining therapeutic conversation with gentle movement. Many people find that being side-by-side, rather than face to face, allows conversation to flow more naturally. Walking can also reduce anxiety, promote wellbeing and create a sense of calm that supports the therapeutic process. I have seen how combining movement, nature and therapy can help people feel more grounded, connected and able to reflect more openly on their experiences. I am passionate about offering this alternative way of working to those who feel it may be the right fit for them.
Practice description
Clients often describe me as warm, caring and easy to talk to. While I take the therapeutic process seriously, I also believe that humour, lightness and genuine human connection can be powerful parts of healing. I am committed to building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy and respect allowing you the space to explore whatever brings you to counselling at your own pace. Feeling heard, understood and supported can help us explore difficult experiences, develop greater self-awareness and move towards a life that feels more balanced, fulfilling and true to who you are. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, loss, low self-esteem or, simply feeling stuck I’m here to support you.
My first session
Our first session is a free telephone consultation, giving us the opportunity to get to know one another before deciding whether we'd like to work together. During this call we will take the time to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain from therapy, and any questions and concerns you may have. I’ll also explain how I work and discuss whether face-to-face, online, or walk and talk therapy would best suit your needs. There is no pressure to share everything straight away- we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable to you. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the counselling process, and this consultation gives us both the opportunity to decide whether we're the right fit. If we decide to work together, we’ll arrange your first counselling session and begin your therapeutic journey.
