About me and my therapy practice

I believe therapy should be shaped around the person, not the problem. Every individual has their own story, experiences, strengths, and challenges, so I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs rather than relying on a single method of therapy.

My approach combines curiosity, compassion, and collaboration. I aim to provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly about what is troubling you, explore difficult emotions, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

Together, we may look at how past experiences, relationships, and life events have influenced the way you think, feel, and relate to others today. We may also explore recurring patterns that leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or dissatisfied. By developing a greater understanding of these patterns, many people find they are able to make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.

Alongside this deeper exploration, I can help you develop practical ways of responding to challenges in the present. Depending on your goals, this may involve building confidence, improving relationships, managing difficult emotions, setting healthier boundaries, developing self-compassion, or finding new ways to cope with life's pressures.

I have a particular interest in working with anxiety, OCD, intrusive thoughts, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. However, I welcome anyone who feels they would benefit from having a dedicated space to think, reflect, and work through whatever they may be facing.

Above all, I see therapy as a collaborative process. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to work alongside you in understanding your experiences, discovering what matters most to you, and helping you move towards the life you want to live.

Practice description

I offer individual psychotherapy and counselling for adults both online across the UK and in person in London Bridge. My practice provides a confidential, supportive space where you can slow down, reflect on what is happening in your life, and work towards meaningful change.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions, grief, or a sense that something simply doesn't feel right. Equally, you may not have a clear reason for seeking therapy but feel that you would benefit from having a dedicated space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Alongside my general practice, I have a particular interest in working with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), intrusive thoughts, excessive worry, and overthinking. Having worked with individuals experiencing OCD in both voluntary and clinical settings, I understand how exhausting it can be to feel trapped in cycles of doubt, fear, and mental rumination.

I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy depending on your needs. Sessions last 50 minutes and are typically held weekly. We will regularly review how therapy is progressing and ensure that our work remains focused on what is most important to you.

Finding the right therapist is an important decision, which is why I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call. This gives us an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and consider whether we would be a good fit to work together.

My aim is to provide a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported as you navigate life's challenges.

My first session

I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly if this is your first experience of counselling or psychotherapy. The first session is designed to provide a safe and supportive space for us to begin getting to know one another and to explore what has brought you to therapy.

Before our first meeting, I will ask you to complete a short assessment form and counselling agreement. This helps me gain an initial understanding of your circumstances and ensures you have all the information you need about how I work.

During our first session, we will discuss the difficulties you are experiencing, any relevant background information, and what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no pressure to share everything immediately; we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

The first session is also an opportunity for you to decide whether I am the right therapist for you. Research consistently shows that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important factors in successful therapy, so it is important that you feel comfortable and able to work openly with me.

By the end of the session, we will have developed a clearer understanding of your needs and whether ongoing therapy together feels appropriate. We can then discuss any questions you may have and consider the next steps.

I also offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call before booking a first session. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy and whether I may be the right fit for your needs.
