About me and my therapy practice
I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults and young people aged 12 and over online and in person in Hackney East London.
I believe therapy works best when it feels genuinely tailored to you. My approach draws on a range of evidence-based methods, which means I adapt how we work depending on what you need, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.
I hold a PhD in developmental psychology from Birkbeck, University of London, alongside clinical training in counselling and psychotherapy from the University of East London. This combination means my work is grounded both in research on how people develop, think, and form relationships, and in hands-on clinical practice with real people navigating real difficulties.
Practice description
People often come to therapy when they feel overwhelmed, low, or stuck under the weight of high expectations, whether their own or other people's. I work with adults and adolescents (12+) who are finding it hard to get going, struggling in their relationships, or feeling they don't quite belong, including those navigating neurodivergence or a new diagnosis.
I offer a warm, unhurried space to explore what's really going on beneath the surface, what's standing in your way, and how to move forward with more clarity, resilience and confidence.
I work relationally, drawing on psychodynamic, attachment-based and person-centred approaches, and my work is grounded both in research on how people develop and form relationships and in hands-on clinical practice. I'll listen with curiosity and compassion, and we'll go at your pace, exploring present and past experiences to make sense of what you're going through.
I'm comfortable working with clients from a range of religious, cultural and racial backgrounds, including those for whom faith or community matters.
Whether you're seeking therapy for yourself or for your child, you don't need the right words to reach out. Everything you share is treated with care and confidentiality, and with young people we'll agree at the start how updates to parents will work.
I offer a 20-minute introductory call, where you can ask questions and see whether we're a good fit.
My first session
In the initial session we will discuss what brought you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you are hoping to get out of the process.
This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions about how I work, and to establish whether I am the right therapist for you.
This session is 50 minutes and is charged at the standard rate.
