About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Lynne, a qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP and ACC. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is troubling you at your own pace.

I work using the Waverley Integrative Framework, an integrative approach that recognises that every person is unique. Rather than using a "one size fits all" method, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural, systemic and Gestalt perspectives, adapting my work to your individual needs, experiences, strengths and goals. At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship, creating a safe environment where you feel seen, heard and accepted.

I hold a DipHE in Counselling, a Diploma in Porn and Sex Addiction Counselling, and a Certificate in Adoption. Alongside my work at Personal Bridge, I also practise with another local counselling agency, WWCA.

Before training as a counsellor, I co-founded Personal Bridge Charity in 2012 to support disadvantaged individuals and communities. I have over 20 years' experience working within charities and support services, including Teen Challenge, New Hope and The Joanna Project, supporting people affected by homelessness, addiction, prostitution, and other complex life challenges. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of both human suffering and the resilience people can discover within themselves.

I also bring lived experience to my work. I am AuDHD, dyslexic and dyscalculic, and I am the parent of three neurodivergent children. This has deepened my appreciation of difference and individuality and informs my commitment to offering an affirming, accepting and neurodiversity-informed approach.

Seeking counselling can feel daunting, but you do not have to face life's difficulties alone. Whatever has brought you here, I believe counselling can provide a supportive space where healing, hope and lasting change become possible.

Practice description

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is troubling you at your own pace. I believe that every person is unique, which is why I work using the Waverley Integrative Framework, adapting therapy to your individual needs, experiences and goals.

Drawing on psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural, systemic and Gestalt approaches, I work collaboratively with you to understand the difficulties you are facing, explore the impact of past experiences, and identify new ways of coping and moving forward. At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship, creating a safe environment where you feel seen, heard and accepted.

I have experience in supporting people experiencing addiction, including pornography and sex addiction, shame, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem and the impact of difficult life experiences. I also offer a neurodiversity-informed approach and welcome clients from all backgrounds.

Seeking counselling can feel daunting, but you do not have to face life's difficulties alone. Together, we can work towards healing, growth and lasting change.
