About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Aly, an MBACP registered counsellor offering person-centred counselling in Ruislip and online across the UK.

Reaching out for support can feel like a significant step. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, loss, relationship difficulties, life changes, or simply feeling overwhelmed, counselling can provide a space to explore what is happening for you.

I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can talk openly at your own pace. My role is not to tell you what to do or offer quick solutions, but to work alongside you as you gain greater understanding of yourself, your experiences and the choices available to you.

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe each person has the capacity for growth and change when offered the right conditions. I aim to provide a therapeutic relationship built on empathy, acceptance and authenticity.

Sessions are available in person in Ruislip and online across the UK.

Practice description

My practice, Quiet Space Counselling, offers a calm and supportive environment for adults seeking counselling.

I work with a range of issues including anxiety, stress, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, life transitions and personal development. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Sometimes people seek therapy because they feel stuck, disconnected from themselves, or wish to understand recurring patterns in their lives.

I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling depending on your needs. Sessions are 50 minutes and take place weekly at a consistent time wherever possible.

Alongside my counselling training, I have a longstanding interest in mindfulness and wellbeing. Where appropriate and if it feels helpful for you, we may draw upon simple mindfulness-based awareness techniques. However, counselling remains at the heart of my practice and any additional approaches are always guided by your individual needs and preferences.

I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework and attend regular supervision and ongoing professional development to support safe and ethical practice.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute introductory telephone call before we begin working together. This provides an opportunity for us to discuss what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions you may have and consider whether I am the right counsellor for you.

If you decide to proceed, our first full session will explore what you would like support with, any relevant background information and your hopes for counselling. We will also discuss practical aspects of working together, including confidentiality, session arrangements and any questions you may have about the counselling process.

There is no expectation to share everything immediately. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you.
