About me and my therapy practice
I believe that every person has an innate capacity for growth and change when they are met with empathy, acceptance and genuine understanding. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and strive to provide an inclusive environment where all aspects of your identity and experience are welcomed and respected.
My approach is grounded in person-centred counselling, placing our therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work. I aim to understand your experience from your perspective and to work alongside you with warmth, openness and respect. I recognise that each person's journey is unique, and I adapt my approach to your individual needs while remaining true to person-centred values.
Together we may explore issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss, or feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed. I have an understanding of the emotional impact of stress in the workplace and can offer support to anyone experiencing work-related pressure, burnout, changes in their professional lives, or difficulties achieving a healthy balance between work and personal wellbeing.
Whether you are facing a current challenge or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, the heart of my practice is to provide an opportunity for you to develop greater self-awareness, resilience and self-acceptance.
Practice description
I offer online counselling for adults in a warm, confidential and supportive environment. Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly, providing a consistent space where we can develop a therapeutic relationship at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss what you hope to gain from our work together, and consider whether I am the right therapist for you. There is no expectation to have all the answers or know exactly where to begin.
As our work develops, I will listen carefully and seek to understand your experiences from your perspective, without judgement or assumptions. I will support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings and experiences so that you can discover your own way forward.
I work with sensitivity to each person's unique circumstances, values and identity, recognising that there is no single "right" way to experience the world. My aim is to create a space where you feel safe enough to speak openly, explore difficult emotions, and develop greater confidence in yourself and your choices.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, stress, loss, or simply wish to understand yourself more deeply, I will work alongside you with empathy, respect and genuine care throughout your therapeutic journey.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and to consider whether you feel comfortable working together. Choosing a counsellor is an important decision, and I believe it is essential that you have the opportunity to decide whether I am the right therapist for you.
During our first meeting, we will explore what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain from counselling, and any questions you may have about the process. There is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful of your individual needs.
I will also explain how I work, discuss confidentiality and its limits, answer any practical questions, and agree our counselling contract, including session arrangements and fees. This helps ensure that we begin our work together with clarity and shared understanding.
