Therapist - York

York YO61
Sessions from £50.00

Features

  • Flexible hours available

Availability

I currently have spaces available for new clients and offer flexible working hours to help therapy fit into your life.

I offer face-to-face sessions from a quiet, accessible space in Easingwold. My schedule here is flexible, allowing us to collaborate and find a regular appointment time that works best for you.

In addition to my Easingwold practice, I hold face-to-face sessions in York on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings.

Taking the first step can feel daunting, so I aim to make the process as straightforward as possible. I respond to all enquiries within 48 hours during the working week, and we can arrange a brief, unpressured initial call to explore how we might work together.

About me and my therapy practice

Finding the right therapist is a personal decision, and the quality of the connection we build is the foundation of our work together. I provide a warm, confidential, and identity-affirming space where you can speak openly, feel genuinely heard, and explore your life without judgment.

As an integrative counsellor, I don’t believe in a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach. I tailor our sessions around you as an individual. My work combines a compassionate environment with practical insights to help you understand your emotional world, notice how stress shows up in your body, and untangle the repeating relational patterns or habits that keep you feeling stuck.

My goal isn't to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you build self-acceptance, clarity, and genuine confidence.

Practice description

Clients come to work with me for many different reasons, and you do not need to be in a crisis to benefit from therapy. I frequently support individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety, Panic & Low Mood: Persistent worry, overthinking, or feeling emotionally disconnected.
  • Relationships & Boundaries: Navigating communication issues, repeating conflicts, family tension, or processing breakups.
  • Burnout & Workplace Stress: Managing high-pressure work environments, emotional exhaustion, or professional identity shifts.
  • Life Transitions: Navigating career changes, mid-life shifts, or identity questions.
  • Self-Critique & Confidence: Moving away from harsh perfectionism toward self-kindness.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a significant step, so our initial session is structured to be gentle, collaborative, and unpressured.

What to Expect

  • Exploration: We will talk through what brings you to counselling right now, your personal background, and what you hope to achieve from our work together.
  • Contracting & Boundaries: We will briefly review our practical working agreement—covering confidentiality, session frequency, and emergency contacts—so you feel entirely secure in how we work together.
  • Assessing Fit: This session gives us both the opportunity to see how it feels to work together and ensure that integrative therapy is the right support for your needs. You are under no pressure to share anything before you feel ready.

Practicalities & Fees

Initial sessions are 50 minutes long and charged at my standard session rate.

Prior to our first meeting, you will be sent a link to complete a brief, secure client details form online so we can focus our time in the room on what matters most to you.

Background & Specialized Focus

Before retraining as a therapist, I spent over a decade working in high-pressure legal and corporate environments in London. This background informs my calm, steady presence in the room.

I am deeply committed to providing an inclusive, identity-affirming space, with specialized experience supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, men’s mental health, and neurodivergent clients (ADHD/Autism).
